Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Published

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

Nice! Well we have the Kaplan alumni factor in our favor :) hopefully we'll be classmates![/quoteExactly what I was thinking:-)

So I got in the mail a letter from Kaplan registrar that said before school starts they wanted to inform me that my transfer credits were accepted (English, Sociology and LVN step up). Does that mean I'm "almost" accepted????

And they also said my graduation date is 9/10/2014??? I'm confused!

Ok then that settles it, I'm going to apply to Kaplan with confidence! Just waitig on my schools to send official transcripts. You're date seems correct because isn't the RN program two years long?

I think so..24 or 20 months....something like that. But I'm wondering if I'm accepted or not?

I don't think they can accept you before the application deadline. However if you know differently...

No I don't know anything different, I just don't get why they would send me this prior to the acceptance date? Weird

Youre right, very weird. I think they just want to keep you informed. It's a good thing you're posting so I know what to expect :)

Lol I'm glad to help! Let me know if you get a similar letter in the mail.

Will do! They keep talking about an interview I have to take. Can you tell me whats that all about?

An interview? Hmmm like with the admissions person? Or with the DON? The interview with the DON I thought was after u were "conditionally" accepted...the only person I've spoken with was my admissions person. I just talked with her about my experience, my current job and my test scores.

Umm well I'm coming from LA and my nursing admission rep said something about an interview with someone before they can accept me. So it's nothing to get nervous about right?
