  1. What was your TEAS score for KCC?

9 members have participated

Hi All,

I am curious as to what a competitive applicant has for an ATI TEAS score, GPA, prereqs. I understand the minimum TEAS was 78, but it has been temporarily lowered to 65.

Obviously, the higher the scores the better, but what does an average accepted applicant's scores look like?

What is a solid TEAS score for acceptance, do I have to score in the 90s or are scores in 70s adequate?

Do most selectees earn A's on their Zoology and MICR, or are B's competitive? Essentially, I am wondering if I should fork out additional money to retake the zoology classes to raise the B's to A's or is that an unwise use of tight funds?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Hey guys, just to let you know I have withdrawn from the program. So I hope that one of you were able to take my spot! Good luck! :)

Chuddlymuffin did you go yesterday to the NSO?

Hey guys! How was the meeting yesterday?

It went well. Got to meet up with Ellers and Roz. They covered a lot of things during the orientation, which was expected. There were a lot of students that attended. It seemed like most of them were alternates. I believe 18 were selected and the others were alternates for the adn and lpn-rn transition. The professors that came by to explain the nurs 210 and 211 class were very straightforward with what they expected from the new incoming students. Wes and Kristalyn, the counselors, were very informative throughout the whole orientation, and I think they will be of great help to new nursing students. A board member of the student nurse association came by and gave insight on the life of a student nurse. She seemed very exhausted but she gave great info about the weekly routines that student nurses at KCC dealt with.

Overall, I thought that the orientation went very well. Lots of things to look forward to in the program. I really hope that one of you gals get called up and get get accepted!

Hey tried to meet up but my exam went until 910am then I walked in late to orientation and was sort of scolded. I thought the orientation was good and straight forward. It does sound like the program is totally absorbing of your life. On many briefers they mentioned that whatever you used to do, plan on doing less of it unless its nursing class.

It was funny I was trying to place you guys but I didnt see Roz who was wearing a tank top, I assumed it got cold in that room and she put on a jacket, so I was looking for a guy and two girls which I thought I narrowed it down to, but wasnt sure. Rocking it, were you wearing a cap?

Anyway, just noticed the CPR class for UH so I signed up for sunday afternoon anyone else?

Good luck everyone.

I signed up for the morning class. I am all about avoiding traffic, so I figured Sunday morning would be great.

I was the one with the red cap :p

I already have the CPR class but I think I'll apply for the January class cause I'll be in the mainland during the other dates.

Did you guys see Michael yet? I still have to get my physician to sign the TB papers for the UH-Health department. They sent the requirements the day after I had my doctors appointment.

I saw him. You go over the medical paperwork and sign some documents. It takes about 20 minutes.

I'm actually on the mainland on a trip right now but I did a phone version with Michael.

And I registered for the January 12 morning CPR class. Is anyone else gonna be in that class?

I can't make it to the Sunday classes cause of church. Probably have to take the Saturday, January 11 class.

20 minutes only? Kk I better schedule now before his schedule fills up.

Better hurry, I tried the saturday and it was full up and I can't take the December ones. But if you already have it don't sweat it. Yeah I signed up with Michael and everything went well. If you transfer don't forget the UH health services forms signed by your doc/rn that does your titers.

I signed up with Ben-sever or something, I have no idea who is good or not, but her class was filling up so I was hoping other folks know something I don't.

I was in a Blue Cap btw, ha ha. Was one of the ladies in a orange cap?

Unfortunately we also are last as transfer students so can't get a parking pass as we go last but at least registrations reserved so we can't be bumped from that.

Looks like you and I are in the same clinical. I chose it bc I wanted those particular sites, but I've also heard good things about the instructor from current nursing students.
