Hi All,
I am curious as to what a competitive applicant has for an ATI TEAS score, GPA, prereqs. I understand the minimum TEAS was 78, but it has been temporarily lowered to 65.
Obviously, the higher the scores the better, but what does an average accepted applicant's scores look like?
What is a solid TEAS score for acceptance, do I have to score in the 90s or are scores in 70s adequate?
Do most selectees earn A's on their Zoology and MICR, or are B's competitive? Essentially, I am wondering if I should fork out additional money to retake the zoology classes to raise the B's to A's or is that an unwise use of tight funds?
Any guidance is appreciated.
Congrats! I know you worked so hard for this chance dude. Just my opinion since I am in the same boat as you, take the bird in hand and run with it. KCC had their chance. I am trying to send my response ASAP so they get back to me with the reqs. You look at the schedule? classes are crazy and overlap times for 210L, 210, 211, and 212. Don't understand it, cause I still want to major in science too if allowed and there is no space for any other classes.
I'd like to get my biology degree, and be able to take organic and physics under the science umbrella so I can be eligible for some other opportunities. I realize that Nursing is a tough major by itself so I may settle for a minor if I can work it. The conflicts for 210L with itself for 1-530pm and on t-w and 3-730pm same t-w. Unless that is 1-530 for a period of time then it switches to the second time. this makes it almost impossible to sign up for labs or even a second class like I still need Phrm203.
Ohhh those time slots. Maybe there was an input mishap. It's still a draft so things may change. Could you take Phrm203 from the community college? I know LCC has Phrm203, which was online and very easy. KCC also has Phrm203, but it runs through the night hours. You could also take it second semester cause Nurs 220 and 220L are the only mandatory classes for second semester. First semester seems to be a really packed semester that doesn't accommodate other outside classes. You might overburden yourself during first sem if you add other science classes. I heard that pathophysiology is x20 harder than the A&P prerequisites.
KCC was very explicit in the requirements for CPR/ AED/ First Aid prior to starting classes. I had all those certs, but as it turns out, they are not at the professional level, so I scheduled for the professional versions this Saturday, then I found out I was accepted to the BSN. Do you guys know if you need to have the professional certs prior to starting UHM BSN or will we certify as a group during regular nursing classes? It does not say anything regarding CPR in my acceptance letter. If I can save $100 by dropping the Red Cross class, I will.
Hey CPO hold up on your stuff until you send in your paperwork and you hear back. I was told by them that they will offer the classes that are required but we just have to buy the red cross book materials, the instruction is provided. Hate to see you throw money and time away. This should be in the Dec/Jan timeframe. They purposely dont give you the requirements because they want you to wait until they tell you what to do next.

Hey Rocking,
I spoke to them about that and they said they list it like that because they are unsure of the clinical until closer to the semester. But the window is 0630 to 1930. Hopefully not the whole thing! UHM does not offer PHRM203 so you must take it at a LCC or KCC or online. I think I will save it as I need to keep 12 hours to keep my grant, so that will top me off next semester. But I already finished all my others like stats and FGA stuff so I think I am good to go.
Also hurry and turn in your stuff, faster you do faster you can register for classes once its out. I am a senior in terms of semester so I get to register early but the nursing classes are restricted to majors only.
