Hello, I have an interview with Kaiser Permanente San Diego for a new grad position (no specific unit - have to reapply to a unit after training). I was wondering what types of questions they ask - behavioral? clinical? both? Any input would be awesome. Thank you!
Hi! Congrats on the job! Did you apply online and did the title/position state whether it was for a new grad?? Or did it say something general like emergency rn?
The new grad positions I've seen have had titles like, "Staff Nurse II/Staff Nurse I/Interim Permittee" on the tagline. Kaiser is generally pretty firm on having AT LEAST 6 months of acute care experience. I tried contacting a good contact I have with Kaiser, and she reiterated that.
To those wondering the kinds of questions asked, a few that I remember (interviewed for a new grad position in the ED):
Tell me about yourself.
Tell me about a time you had a miscommunication with a coworker/manager/fellow student.
A pt presents with these sx, what possible diagnoses come to mind, in order of importance. (given a few of these)
Tell me about a time when you feel you went the extra mile for a patient.
I'm trying to remember more. I was extremely nervous, as you can imagine, and sadly, didn't get the job. On to the next. :)
For those who have gone through the new grad application process, how many steps are there? One interview or several? And what type of questions do they ask? I applied for a new grad position and have been told to make myself available for a "possible interview" next week. Any tips and advice would be appreciated! I just got my license in December and do not have any experience.

I'm also interviewing with Kaiser next week, and I'd love input on the interview. I understand that mine will be a 3 person panel. Thank you!
