Kaiser Los Angeles New Grad Training Telemetry

U.S.A. California

Is anyone attending the group interview on July 3 at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center? The interview is for the Telemetry unit, and I was invited yesterday. The recruiter told me it will be a group interview, and if selected, followed by a one-on-one interview. They are picking 20 new grad RN candidates for the position. The invite says the interview is 5 HOURS long! how is this possible? In past year's threads Kaiser did a group interview and one-on-one back to back on the same day and if your name wasn't selected to go on after the group, you were asked to leave. Does anyone else know about how the process works? I hope it is not as brutal as it sounds...

What sort of questions were asked in that group interview anyway? Just curious. :)

Good luck to those who got the positions.

So I had my physical and HR meeting today. Wondering if you guys can confirm our first few weeks. As far as I can tell from the "orientation" paperwork we received, we have 3 days of Orientation, then 9 days of Didactic training immediately following (M-F). Then, as far as I can remember from what we were told, our new hire training (with a preceptor) then begins late September (the 23rd?). So we have a couple of weeks off in between? Anyone have any other insight on any of this?

Hi neenarn

I was thinking the same thing. I am a bit confused about our first three weeks of training prior to Sept 23rd. From the interview day, they made it sound like our actual clinical/ floor training starts on Sept 23rd. But i am assuming we have at least a week off (maybe two) before Sept 23rd. I remember the nurse recruiter saying that hospital orientation was going to be 3 weeks. I cant wait for it to start! I want to be back on the floor already! :)

Okay, did anyone get a call today from someone at SELACO-WIB? Apparently there is a grant for our training that this organization received from the Dept. of Labor in order for Kaiser to offer this new grad program. We have to go in and fill out an application and sign some documents. I did most of mine on the phone and am going in to sign tomorrow. Very confusing and a LOT of personal information needs to be provided. I did confirm with HR that this is part of the process, but I was really uncomfortable with it over the phone.. Wish we would have been told during the process so it was more expected!

Hi

I haven't received a call yet. Maybe they'll call tomorrow since it'safter 55pm . That's weird. Hr didn't tell me about this step in the process when I asked if there was anything else we needed to do. Very interesting.

thanks tinatuna. Let me know if you get a call. I think it's legitimate since I called and asked Kaiser first before I called them back, but it was really off-putting to give them all this personal info. When I tried to get out of giving them some (they want personal contacts, etc), they said that incomplete applications might affect my ability to start with kaiser on my orientation date (kinda threatening). Really weird. I did google them and they seem pretty legit, but again, just don't know why this is the first I've heard of it. If you get the call too, I might feel better about it. I'm driving to Cerritos tomorrow morning to sign my "application" there, so maybe it will make more sense in person...

By any chance can someone please tell me how you founD out about the new grad training with kaiser? Was it posted or did you have to contact hr direct? I greatly appreciate it..im a new grad, and still looking

Did anyone else get a Prescreen Questionnaire form for the Telemetry Training program for Oct/Nov 2013??

It says interviews are based on first-come first-serve basis... and I just found out I got the email yesterday.. ):

I got a Prescreen Questionnaire as well. I faxed the Questionnaire, and emailed the recruiter to give confirmation but got no reply yet. I would still fax the questionnaire since technically the deadline is Friday!

Oh okay. I sent it in anyway even though I didn't reply back very quickly.. I hope we hear back soon! By the way, do you know if this is just a training program or an actual new grad position? I am confused because it said training program..

I am anxious to see how this process works. From previous posts, the process seems quick.
