Just took NCLEX. WHY DID I GET SOOOOOO MANY MED QUESTIONS!?!?! NOT FAIR!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just took the NCLEX this morning, and it was like 90% Med questions for me. Quite a few I'd never heard of! Stuff like "Pt's taking this, was would your teaching include?" "Pt's taking that, what side effect would you tell them to look out for?" "Pt's on this, which finding would require immediate follow up?" they just kept comming and comming! I got like one math problem, maybe like 3 SATA's (with dumb meds), and about 5 priority. the rest meds! MEDS MEDS MEDS MEDS MEDS!!!

I felt like hollering out "WHAT AM I?! A REFERENCE BOOK?!"

And I would have been like ok, if it had shut off at 75. But no, it shut off a 80, maybe 81. And it shut off on a question that I had to sit there and think and toggle between two answers for like 3-4mins. So I'm feeling like there's a good possibility that I failed. :banghead: :crying2:

ok, I just had to get that out of my system. Still feel unfair though. Especially when a bunch of my classmates said they only had like 2-3 med questions.

From what I can tell about the NCLEX, they ask you more questions in your weaker areas to make sure you're minimally competent. Ugh, eh? Good luck to you:heartbeat

My test had a lot of meds I did not know I just kept telling myself that these are the test questions. :) My friends also had med questions they had no clue about and all passed. So hang in there.

Everyone that I've talked to (that's passed) has said there are a ton of med questions on the NCLEX that are ridiculous and out if this world. Note that they still passed.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Part of me was starting to think they had found my one weak area and were just trying to pound it on me over and over and over again till it had enough to fail me.

I know it sucks!!! When I took my NCLEX I had about 10-15 med questions.. Its also my weak area... Just keep your head up! I passed with all mine I will pray for you

hi--this thread was started a month ago, i wonder if the op has passed. i am sure they have. :)

Well thank God you had 3 SATA. i had 17 of those, 3 or 4 fill in the blank, lots of meds, no maternity, one or 2 peds and the worst part is , i've been working since i came out of school so i didn't get a chance to study, i did some psych questions on my nclex 3500 and i didn't finish cuz i had a hyperactive 6y.o niece bugging me all day. So no, after working all week, driving around and trying to fix my car the day before and getting lost on my way the place, shutting off a 75 makes one wonder, was i doing well on those back to back SATA or was i screwing up on them and all them pharm questions.

if you say you hadn't heard of quite a few of them, then i don't think you should worry. Just hope for the best and yeah it sux but i often hear people who had no clue what med they were looking at and the passed.

I wish you all the best.
