Just took NCLEX - Advice?

Published

Hi everyone! I am brand new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Carol and I am a nursing student from CA who just took the NCLEX. I am really paranoid that I did not pass. I had 75 questions that I thought were difficult. I noticed that I got multiple questions regarding Infection Control and prioritizing which patient you would see first. In everyone's experience, do you think this indicates anything? I think there's a strong chance I failed miserably if they repeatedly asked me about a topic. Does anyone know how long I have to wait before I retake the test? Please tell me I'm not a complete failure!!! :scrying:

I start working next Monday as a new grad with my IP. I'm extremely sad and embarrassed about the test. Does anyone have any experience (either yourself or someone you know) regarding a failed NCLEX? I would really appreciate any advice or any words of wisdom anyone can give.

Thank you.

Im SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPER NERVOUS! I take my nclex-pn next thursday and although Im happy I can't help but think "What If." I don't get to study too much since I have been temporarily working 2 jobs one that ends on Thursday which is good. However, my weak spot is Pharm and always has. Im good with prioritization though so Im hoping that this is where most of my questions come from. If you have the Saunders book with the disk, my classmate told me that for her the nclex questions weren't as hard; but please don't mistake that for false hope that it will be a breeze. She did however say that she did alot of talking to herself and having a few temporary "brain farts". Im just hoping to remember everything that's being asked of me. Sorry just needed to vent since now, everything I've worked for is on the line. I like many who are scheduled to take the test soon just need a little mental support.

Well, I dont' know, I take mine tomorrow and am kind of worried. I have done a whole lot of questions on CD's, in books, etc. and have done a lot of prioritization... I sure hope I am ready.

It's good to know that California is quick about the results.
:roll :chuckle

California is the slowest with the NCLEX results!

I disagree. They have been better than what I was hearing from two of my friends. I got my results in about 1 1/2 weeks and have already sent the paper work back and paid the fee. Now we just have to see how quick they are about actually issuing the license.

Reading these posts makes me feel a bit better, because my comp also shut off at 75 and contained many many prioritizing ?s, 3-4 alternate format and at least four infection control ?s that made me nervous b/c I thought i was selecting the right answer (and I am not totally stupid when it comes to infection control) but then ten or so ?s later I would get another one. It seems as if alot of us got ?s like that- perhaps those are pilots? lol.

Hi everybody. Congratulations to all of you who passed. I took my test today 3/13 and I am so anxious. My test stopped at 75 questions too and I also had lots of priority questions. Part of me is relieved and another part of me can't stop thinking about how I did. I guess I won't know how I did for a few weeks. I'll be anxiously waiting for the mailman.

i had tons of prioritizing also well, most of the questions were, and the last questions was priority but i dont know if i answered it right..still waiting for the result..

This thread is three years old. Most that have posted here already have had their results for quite sometime.

I have moved this thread to the NCLEX Forum, since once someone writes the exam, they are no longer a graduate nurse.

Best of luck to you as you wait for your results.

my nclex shut off at 81 questions, I felt like I didnt know MOST of the questions that were thrown at me, I just knew I failed, but I remember an instructor that said " first you get some easy ones, and if you get those right, they will get harder and harder. Anyways, to my amazement , I passed!!!!
