just took the first step to enrolling in Excelsior ADN program

Published

I recently applied to Excelsior College for the ADN program. They called today to let me know that my LPN license has been verified and accepted. I'm so excited to move forward! I've been contemplating on going back to school for years. A little background about myself. LPN of 8 yrs. Mostly LTC experience. I have two kids. 10yr old and 8 month old. Work only weekends. This program seems perfect for me, seeing that I am extremely motivated. I requested my transcripts from previous colleges attended a few days ago. I'm sure they'll take a while with the holidays but was wondering when they finally do get the transcripts, how long does it take for them to let you know what pre reqs are needed? Is there anything I can do to advance in the program while waiting? I thought about taking info lit through Tor college if Excelsior gives the ok. Anybody else just getting there foot in the door?

Specializes in LTC.
Yes I will use the SG 101 and we will start our own study group so if your interested let us know.

Where do you get SG 101 from? I'm enrolled just awaiting my transfer credits to be evaluated!! But in the meantime I can be reviewing study info.

Specializes in Intensive Care.

It's on MyStudyGroup101 LLC I hope posting the website was okay :(

Good idea about starting a group. I would like to join. I live in NYC. I am officially accepted. I need to clear Micro, AnP, and info Lit before I can study for the nursing courses. I can't install kik now. It says I need to update by IOS lol.

Once you update "nurseneo" you should be able to download Kik unless you have an older iPhone lol... But you can also download it on an Android device. What part of NY you're from?

I'm thinking about joining EC. I will be following things page. Good luck to you all

Btw....with AP, bio and micro....don't other colleges require labs with this classes? I don't want to waste my time and money if the credits don't transfer due to lack of labs.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.
