just took the first step to enrolling in Excelsior ADN program

Published

I recently applied to Excelsior College for the ADN program. They called today to let me know that my LPN license has been verified and accepted. I'm so excited to move forward! I've been contemplating on going back to school for years. A little background about myself. LPN of 8 yrs. Mostly LTC experience. I have two kids. 10yr old and 8 month old. Work only weekends. This program seems perfect for me, seeing that I am extremely motivated. I requested my transcripts from previous colleges attended a few days ago. I'm sure they'll take a while with the holidays but was wondering when they finally do get the transcripts, how long does it take for them to let you know what pre reqs are needed? Is there anything I can do to advance in the program while waiting? I thought about taking info lit through Tor college if Excelsior gives the ok. Anybody else just getting there foot in the door?

Unable to open link. I replied to ur message but oddly it didn't go through, so if u see a repeat message apologies.

I got both of them lol. I had to send it to my Google drive app on my tablet then I was able to view it. I also saw it on Amazon for free for a trial period I believe if you're still having trouble

Googled it, got it now- thx you saved me another cost. Wanna start a study group? I work night shifts but maybe we can post things that we need help with or we can start a FaceBook page too. Let me know ur thoughts.

Yes we can most definitely start a study group. I'm all in. I work weekends only. So I'll be available during weekdays.

Ha me too except for one day during the week [emoji1] I'm going to message you.

Do you both plan on using SG101 to study for your exams? There is a group on FB called MyStudyGroup 101. I've used that as my primary contact with other student's using ECs exam route. Just wanted to pass this info on.

I'm taking micro and A&P tests in the next few months - then will apply at Excelsior for their ASN program. I did my BS in Liberal Arts through them and really enjoyed the process.

I'm in CA and I know I can't get a CA license, but I can work in federal jobs and/or move to another state. The CA LVN to RN public programs are just too hard to get into and I don't want to spend 45K to go through a private college program.

f you would like to start a Excelsior College Study Group, first please download Kik. It works for both Android and Apple users. Second, message me via allnurses your users name (to join study group) but you can also find me on Kik (Excelsior College Study Group)
