So I just got of the phone with a person from CANDO. I have to go meet with her tomorrow. That was really hard and I know there will be some bad days ahead. My question. Can you work in a non nursing job?
I wouldn't count on cobra.. mine would cost me 1200$ a month. I am in the process if applying for state insurance..or Medicaid..but I am only able to get that because i have a minor cHild and no income. Check to see if your state has that available. Also, the Marketplace will likely have something cheaper than cobra. Good luck.
COBRA is usually crazy expensive so with money being tight that probably won't be the best option. Besides which most employer provided health policies seem to have very limited if any benefits for mental health and addiction issues so paying an arm and leg for COBRA probably wouldn't even give you the coverage you need to make the cost worth it. This might be a good time to look at your states insurance site and do some research to find a policy that offers the most help with the coverage you need.
Sorry to just focus on the insurance/money aspect of what is a very difficult situation for you. I just find it very wrong that on top of all the stress dealing with an addiction is giving you there is the added stress of dealing with the money needed to make a program successful.
Im brand new to this too.. I still haven't gotten my contract or started with the AODA stuff because I'm waiting to get state insurance. . Since I doubt ill get unemployment. I know exactly how you feel...very overwhelmed, unsure, numb, scared...etc... I didn't even get out of bed tOday. So just know..u aren't alone....even tho it certainly feels like it

Can you get Cobra insurance? This would also be the time to look into a healthcare plan that covers addiction treatment
