:monkeydance::monkeydance: Hi!!! I'm a EC 2005 ADN graduate, just starting on my BSN..
I don't really remember being contacted by an advisor when I enrolled.
It was different back then. When I started you didn't have to enroll with them at first, but then part way through it changed. I really didn't utilize the advisors, but I think they would greatly help you with your course of action once everything is in order. I think it can take 4-6 weeks. But as another person said, get started studying right away!!!! Did you check with your board of nursing to make sure that they accept EC grads?? In Maryland they no longer accept EC for
LPN-RN. In order for you to prepare for your exams you could use the free content study guides from EC. These can be downloaded or they will send you a hard copy. This will give you an outline of the exam and references and textbooks needed. Or you could use materials from a publishing company such as The college network, RUe, Chancelor,
istudysmart.com. DO NOT buy these directly unless you want to spend thousands of dollars. Depending on how many classes you need it could run you 4-5K. These study guides can be found used on e-bay. Also a former EC honor grad Lisa Erands sells cd's of notes for all of the exams. (cheap). She is very well respected and I have heard nothing but good things about her. Her materials are copywrited, so no sharing. I did go through a publishing company (The College Network), but I didn't know any better. This was back in 1997. At that time they made it sound like they affiliated with EC, which they aren't. I still have all my ADN materials, but they are older. I don't know if you have a lot of general ed classes to take, but another reference is instantcert. This is on-line to help you prepare for your exams. They have a forum ( I will check for the exact web address and re-post). Let me tell you this forum is out of this world. It is people who are taking or have already taken the exams. They give you pointers on what to study, and what references they used. EC accepts clep and dantes exams. These exams are cheap cheap cheap compared to EC prices.
Then you could just take your nursing courses with EC. Also check out yahoo study groups.. They have several for EC students. One is [email protected] . This is wonderful!!!!! You will meet
people whom are doing the same thing that you are... Good support system.. Well hope this helps.. Good luck to you and let me know if I can assist you farther....
Hello to help you with your general ed course here are those web sites for you. www.instantcertonline.com , The forum I was telling you about..((( GREAT!!!))) www.instantcertonline.com/forums , Check out www.collegeboard.com, www.REA.com, www.petersons.com ,
www.wikipedia.com , and www.reference.com , I don't know how many classes you need to complete your degree, but this should help. Keep a hold of it in case you want to go for the BSN in the future because it could help then.

Get with advisor and see what subjects (pre-req) that you may need. Do your pre regs first believe me . I finished in 2 1/2 years but could have done it quicker. GOOD LUCK!

I just enrolled in the RN - MSN program at EC. I received an email from my advisor and a packet from the college about 2 weeks after they received my money and my enrollment package. It takes them 4 - 6 weeks to evaluate all your info and create a status report and evaluation summary for you. Those things will come from your advisor and will tell you what requirements you need to complete. You could start now by signing up for your MyEC username and password if you have not already done so. Then I would download a study guide (maybe Nursing Concepts 1) and obtain your study materials and then start studying. Good luck!
My other suggestion...head on over to the allnurses distance learning forum. You will find many EC students there. Once again, good luck!
