It's been awhile since i've check up on these "where you from" threads. Those of you who work in springfield may know my boyfriend....he did his residency 3 yrs ago at St. Johns....may even know his crazy ex wife who is usually in and out of the hospital there!

Hey from downstate. When I say Southern, I mean Southern Illinois. I live in a small town called Olive Branch. I am 30 min from Kentucky and 15 min from Missouri. I live about 10 miles north of Cairo, IL which is the extreme tip of the state. I am currently bridging up to RN and doing clinicals in Cape Girardeau Mo, which is the closest Hospital to my school.

I am from Chicago, went to nursing school there and worked several years, then worked in Berkeley CA for 3 years. Now I'm in grad school for midwifery elsewhere and plan on moving back to Chicago to live and work after graduation (or after my Indian Health Service stint!) I'm looking for a travel assignment back in Chicago over the summer, and a per diem/short term travel job for over winter break, probably in the Beloit WI are (my daughter just moved there with her husband).

How far are you from Springfield, Il.?

The reason I ask is because they have openings for the LPN class in January at Capital Area School of Practical Nursing. :p

i was wondering if that capital area school of nursing is the one that offers the 9 month program?
