Just Finished RN-BSN Program

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I just completed the RN-BSN program at UTA last month, if you have any questions or need to talk to a UTA graduate feel free to ask.

Congratulations! I will be finish up my last two pre-reqs next semester for RN-BSN. I have stats and algebra to take. I am horrible at Algebra and don't want this to stop me! Any pointers that could help me out?

So it IS possible to do it in less than 13 months! I'm waiting to hear back because I'm wondering about tuition, like the approximate 8K, if that's including pre-reqs, I have pretty much all of mine done at a community college so I'm hoping that means tuition will be less. Were you able to work full time with your course load? And congrats!

Thanks so much, commonsense,

Just what I needed to hear. If you would have told me it was a duplication of Research, I really think I would have gone outside and jumped in front of a truck or something. Absolutely could not take another one like this....not now or in my lifetime.

Feel free to contact me anytime ScarletFire, I'm always down to help a fellow human.

Would you mind if I contacted you again once I get into Capstone if I have any other questions?

The approximate $8,000 does not include prerequisites, or nursing electives such as medical terminology and legacy of the family. The RN-BSN program requires two of these electives, so tack on another $1500 to your total. I finished the program for about $10,800, this includes tuition and books for all required nursing classes, medical terminology, legacy of the family, and technical writing, best of luck emartinez508.

Congrats! I would love to ask you some questions via PM.

Hello. I am hoping you can answers some of my questions I have regarding this school(UTA)? Please:) So I am currently enrolled with rn to bsn program but trying to get into another school but looking at all my options before changing. I'd hate to go from one bad experience to another one. Does each class have weekly assignments: posts, writing assignments, quizzes and exams? Are the exams proctored? Are some of the questions from the quizzes in the exams? Is it doable? I need statistics. Is the statistics class hard and are the tests proctored and timed? I hate math. hehe. Thanks in advance for your time.

So I was so close to enrolling in . Even paid for my background check last night! $42 bucks! But I got my acceptance in uta today and enrolled and I'm too excited!

Congrats on finishing! Did you take any of the electives? I'm trying to decide between Legacy of the Family, Cooperative Nursing Work Experience, and Medical Terminology. Do you have any advice?

I took both Medical Terminology and Legacy of the Family. Both courses were pretty easy, but legacy of the family was less time consuming.

Hi! Just a few questions :)

How long did it take you to complete program?

What classes are ok to double up with another and which classes are better to take by themselves?

Thanks!

Oh, and what is it about the research class that makes it so difficult? There are a lot of negative comments about it on the forum. Is there anything I can do to prepare?

Thank you so much for being willing to answer our questions. That is a huge help for those of us who are just starting! :)

I completed the program in ten months. I was able to complete the program so quickly because I doubled up classes every single semester. As far as particular classes are concerned

-Professional Nursing A&B: Easy courses, they will get you prepared for what to expect during the program, I doubled up with Technical Writing the first five weeks and Health Promotion Across the Lifespan the second five weeks

-Health Promotion Across the Lifespan: Very easy course

-Holistic Care of Older Adults: Little harder than health promotion, but very manageable

-Holistic Health Assessment Across the Lifespan: Basic course but extremely time consuming, allot yourself 4-5 hours per week to complete the assignments

-Care of Vulnerable Populations Across the Lifespan: One of the more difficult courses, but with decent dedication you can earn an A

-Nursing Leadership and Management: Very basic course

-Nursing Research: Go for a B, this class sucks

-Capstone: You're almost done with this one, but you cannot double up on nursing classes this semester, all other courses must be done before you start Capstone, overall a basic course though

When it comes to doubling up on courses you have to know yourself. Analyze your study habits, work and family requirements, ect. Some people can manage doubling up without a problem, others struggle to find time for one course, only you can know how you will handle it.
