Just failed NCLEX-RN 2nd time

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I just found out today I failed the NCLEX-RN for the 2nd time. I am so upset and I don't know if I can go through this again. I have a position in a fellowship that's being held until I pass but I feel awful. I used the hospital's 6 week mentor/study plan and was right on target with my scores and still didn't pass. Does anyone have any advice? I'm starting to feel like it just wasn't meant to be even though I've been dreaming of becoming a nurse for years!

Thanks for any advice,

Hopeless for the 2nd time :o

i agree with je-da. do not give up!!! i cant tell you how many times i failed and felt like this was not ment to be but i found strength somewhere inbetween the anger and disappointment and focused on what i knew will happen.

study, study, study....study everything cause you do not know what will pop up on the computer trust me. do plenty of questions just to get in the habit of answering questions and to feel comfortable with them. read rationals of right and wrong answers.

good luck,,, i believe that you will pass

just hold gods hands and trust him to lead you...have faith

you are in the best position right now to give advice because you too have been there and did that. i agree with you because i failed once but i chose not to give up. strength will come and we will pass when god sees it fit for us to do so. god did not bring us this far to drop us off and let us down. i know that it is hard but we will get through this. i also know that it is even harder when one has just failed and the shock that accompanies it is so great that one's vision is blurred. when the time comes, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel to go ahead and claim what is already yours!

Don't give up, take a few days to recover and relax and then decide on a study plan. You will get there many good nurses fail local exams before they pass

;) Failure is a normal and natural part of achievement. When the failures come, learn from them and then move quickly along.

Failure is not the worst thing that can happen. The worst thing that can happen is to let the fear of failure prevent you from ever doing anything.

If your top priority is to avoid all failure, then you will surely fail. For only by accepting and living with the possibility of failure can you succeed and achieve.

Failure is not the end of the world. It is merely another step on the pathway to fulfillment, wisdom and achievement.

Though you would never intentionally set out to fail, when failure does come the best thing to do is to gracefully accept what has happened. That will enable you to gain the most positive value from it.

Then you can move right along to the next step, and soon you'll be a long way past the failure, filled with more wisdom and experience. Let failure be, and achievement will surely come. ;)

i failed twice too. i finally passed on my third try with 265 q.

one thing i can say : keep trying, don't give up, you will pass, soon or later we all pass !!!

good luck

Keep in mind that you are not alone - I failed my NCLEX 2X before I finally passed and remember how disappointed I was BUT had I given up, I would not be an RN today! Don't sweat the small stuff. You are obviously an intelligent individual (afterall, you did pass nursing school) so it is just a matter of time before you pass the NCLEX as well. Keep a positive attitude and you will see results. Take a deep breath, focus on the results you want, study, study some more and study even more. I know you can do it - believe that you can too!! Good luck!

Jwood,

I know exactly how you are feeling, I am in the same boat, its so hard to take it when you fail again but here I am, going to take it the third time once I am ready. It is definitely not easy to get back on that horse and do it all over again but all I can say is we can't give up. Just hang'n there and lets not give up!

I just failed for the first time. I'm really down but you gotta keep fighting. We all worked too hard in school to get to this point to let one test drag us down. We just have to study hard and study right and give it hell the next time around.
