  1. hi everybody, i'm an rn currently living and working in pittsburgh pennsylvania. i'm considering taking a 13 week travel nurse assignment at alaska psychiatric institute. i was wondering if there were any other nurses on these forums that have worked there or are currently working there. also if anyone has any general information on the anchorage area compared to pittsburgh i'd greatly appreciate it.
  2. If you don't mind me asking, what state is that in and what facility?
  3. I'm considering taking a psych job in NC through either Supplemental or Worldwide. Even after reading the comments from nurses who have experienced it I am willing to give it a shot. Gonna talk to some recruiters more in depth tomorrow and will hopefully be able to work out a good deal.
  4. I'm considering taking my first travel assignment with Worldwide Travel Staffing and have been looking into it for quite some time. I wanted to get feedback from nurses who have gone through them also. Any info good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Also the position I'm considering would be in Raleigh, NC so if anyone has experience working in that area I would appreciate it as well.
  5. I'm an RN with 1 year of current psych nurse experience and was wondering if there were any pscyh nurses on this forum that could give some information about psych nursing in the California area. What are the best jobs, pros and cons of living in the area etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I don't know anything about Citizen's but Shadyside is a great school. Very high pass rate on nclex as well.

I'm glad Kaplan worked out for you. It's what I suggest to everyone. I don't know if I would have passed without it.

I'm gonna give another big shoutout to Kaplan. Their online question bank was awesome and had plenty of the questions you had problems with. It's expensive but well worth it.
  10. 2 days before the test I was still studying and doing Qbank questions. You may not have to review all the content but if you were weak on a certain area I'd suggest looking over it. For me it was OB/GYN and stuff like Addison's and Cushing's. I had some med stuff and lots of prioritization. I didn't have much infection but your test may be totally different. Just keep doing questions and review what you are weak on.
  11. The second time the only thing I used at all was the Kaplan Q bank and review of systems book.
  12. Yeah it's costly but for me it was worth it. I wanted to make sure I passed and $300 is a small price to pay when you figure that if you fail again it will be another $200 to register again and then all the salary you'll be missing out on by not being an RN.
  13. 265 and failed the first time, 75 and passed the second time. Good luck!!
  14. www.kaplannursing.com is the website. You have to pay to enroll. It's expensive but worth it.
  15. I'm sure it might help but the online Q bank is really what helped me the most.
