I'm not sure how many of us have out there have heard this beautiful and inspiring song, but I must say this song has given me so much inspiration and assuredness that I am going into the right perfession. I originally heard this as a promo song on the Discovery Health Channel's show Diagnosis X, which comes on Friday evening. I found the song to be very profounding even though I had only heard thirty seconds of it. The visual pictures showed in the commercial made the lyrics even more perfound, with "Running the corridors for you"..."automatic doors, to try to get to you, got to see this through"...well I was so stuck on the message, I researched the song, and found out the song is by a British band called Athlete, the song is named "Wires", written for his newborn daughter who shortly after birth was sent to the NICU, with serious complications. The song moved me so much when I saw the full video and listened to all the lyrics I cried. :sniff:

Not only was it for the fact the innocent and helpless newborn have to go through so much to survive, but for the simple fact that as a future nurse one day it will be my job to run down those corridors to get to that person who needs my help and I will do everything in my power to make sure their life is saved. I've always be interested in NICU, OB, and Peds, and after this I really feel that anyone would be great but I think I'm leaning more towards NICU or PICU. I believe this song could relate to any specialty though. Maybe I'm being a sap, but this just helped me put a few things into perspective, and I think we all as future nurses need that at times, so I would just like to share!;) Please check out the song and comment on what you think.

O.M.G. This is a very touching song! The video was very moving, I also wanna be a pediatric nurse! I love children they are most innocent and pure. I have come to understand that busing is the only proffession I want to enter. Even though its very challenging, other professions don't interest me as nursing does. I enjoy helping others, and I know as a nurse I will have the opportunity to do so! My ultimate goal is to become a nurse! Even though it will be a bumpy road I will give all I have, at the end I will be a nurse and nobody can take that away from you!

Wow.:cry: This is amazing:yeah:- and such an inspiration... I keep feeling like God is pulling me towards this career. :heartbeatI have always wanted to be a Nurse:nurse:- but more recently I feel really pulled towards the NICU:rolleyes:... I always have wanted to work with babies though- actually Kids in general. Before I actually decided on Nursing I contemplated being a teacher:uhoh21:- but actually thought Nursing would be the better choice:)- and Nurses seem to be needed more than teachers right now... I just can't wait to get there- and things like this really give me the drive I need to keep going until I am a NURSE!:nurse: THANKS FOR SHARING!:redpinkhe
