June 2008 Local Board Exams Will Not Push Thru??

Hello everyone..I just want to ask if PRC has already made an announcement re the postponement of the June 2008 Local Board Exams?

I saw an announcement in our school re this news and it also says that October 2008 graduates will only be allowed to take the June 2009 exams,not the December 2008 exams..

Any updates will be appreciated.

That means to say, they'll posponed the NLE for a year? Am I right?

If I were you, I would inquire direclty on PRC. We encountered so many gossips regarding PRC before we took the exam and same as before taking the board exam. SInce this was posted in your school, try to clarify it with the registrar's office. Suggest inquire to PRC straight from them. Because they will posponed it, this should have featured in TV patrol or any news.

I also heard about that....but im looking for formal announcements from PRC or DOLE about that. However, no news from their websites.

Anyone here, who knows of any link to that news????

i visited their website but still no news!!! this sucks!!! why do we have to wait 5 more months to take the NLE??? what do we do now? is this true or what, coz i hope its not! how can we apply or volunteer if we dont have a license to practice?! this is one hell of a BAD NEWS for us 2008 hopefuls...

Just my own opinion, I dont think this is true. Gee.... Because if this is true, it would be a very big controversy! Many people especially parents would really get mad!

If I were you, I wouldn't panick just yet until the final announcement is out!

Just pray that this is not true!

What school are u attending as of the moment?

Cause actually i experienced the same thing just this morning, i actually have the PRC memo or the document scanned, i can post it here as a jpg file but i just don't know how.

I was really shocked, and up to this moment i'm still thinking what to do in the next few months if that memo will be approved!

never heard of that...i guess that's not true. rely on news and formal announcement. though the number of new nurses is rapidly increasing, postponement of exam is not ok. Don't panic. Focus on your review guys! Good luck!

If this is true, it is a logical move for the Board of Nursing. Close to 100,000 took the December 2007 NLE and granting close to half will pass the exams, 50,000 new nurses will form part of the new unemployed/underemployed nurses waiting for the US retrogression to be lifted. Again, the move sounds logical.

I've been to PRC yesterday and no posts or announcements regarding the JUne 2008 postponement of local board exam. I asked directly at the applications divisions and they told me they are now accepting applications for June 2008 exam and the deadline is on April 11.

So i guess, its not true!

The exam for the June 2008 Nursing Board Exam will be on June 1 and 2. It will definitely push through. However, for those graduating this April 2008, may not be able to apply since the last day of application is on April 11 unless you are graduating earlier and have the requirements completed already by then.

Do you mean that the June 2008 Board will still push through but only for those that graduated earlier? I hope that it means all graduates will be eligible for the exam since no information has been posted on the PRC website
