Thanks for the reply =) anyhow, yes i thought of going for NLE too, but i will just be staying here up to Feb and probably not later January. what im thinking is to enroll in a nclex-rn review center because its different in CA where they just have 8 sessions while here in baguio they have 3 months review and live lectures.

on NCLEX papers, then PRC
hi suzanne, i posted an old thread long time ago regarding if i still need to take NLE for my application on NCLEX-RN at CA BRN. i went back CA right after graduation, so obviously i didn't take the June NLE. then applied for NCLEX-RN June 25 2008 then just Sep 5 i went back here Philippines to take the Nov NLE, because i called CA BRN regarding my application and they told me to wait for 24 weeks from the day i sent all my application, so i was so desperate on what to do. and i know because of the news that starting Jan 2008 CA BRN are now requiring license from the country they graduated from. last friday, September 12 (Philippines) i went to Baguio City and filed my papers for PRC stuff. and my Dad called me satruday Sep 11 (US) from CA that my letter of eligibilty has arrived from CA BRN. Now i am so confused if i still need this NLE or what since i can now proceed to take NCLEX-RN and register for NCLEX and pearsonvue.

Do i still need to take the NLE even if i already have a greencard? before NCLEX?
TO Silverdragon102 Thanks for answering my question. With regards in submitting a letter of explanation i haven't really taken the NLE yet since i haven't graduated, am still on going with school and a 4th year college student. The thing is there is this memo written by PRC (the one's giving the NLE) that for us March 2008 BSN graduates we would be talking the exam on NOV 29 and 30 2008, which should be JUNE 2008!! I just thought it would be waste of time if I am going to wait that long just for me to take the NLE. I did maintain my green card status though. Thanks again for the reply. TO suzanne4 Thanks for giving me an idea with regards to my concern. If ever you have read what i said earlier, that is really my main reason why i was asking if it would be fine if i wouldn't take NLE anymore(cause i also read some of your posts and answers and you said "The law states that the nurse must pass either CGFNS exam or the NCLEX-RN exam. No where does it state anything about a local license as a requirement.")-- i'm a bit confused already. Besides that, I just thought I wouldn't be working here in the Philippines since i am already a resident of CA. I am really bothered on what to do. Anyway thanks. Hopefully you would still communicate with me. Lorraine.

What school are u attending as of the moment? Cause actually i experienced the same thing just this morning, i actually have the PRC memo or the document scanned, i can post it here as a jpg file but i just don't know how. I was really shocked, and up to this moment i'm still thinking what to do in the next few months if that memo will be approved! grr!

Do i still need to take the NLE even if i already have a greencard? before NCLEX?
Hi, i am actually new here. good thing i was browsing the internet, i never really thought that a lot of people are giving help in answering questions regarding stuffs like these. Anyway i am Filipino, greencard holder/US immigrant - CA. i just went home here in the Philippines to pursue my college(nursing degree). I am really bothered if i am going to take NLE - Nursing Licensure Exam before taking the NCLEX-RN? ---->> I actually have read the requirements in the internet regarding international students, a letter of explanation is asked if an applicant doesn't have any license. Can anybody as well tell me how do this thing work? Thank You very much for reading. Hopefully you could help me on this especially now that there is this memo released from PRC that March 2008 BSN graduates would take the exam after 8 months thats November 29 and 30, 2008. Thank You again -Raine:specs:
