i'm taking the CRNE this June, i heard the format will be different. will it going to be a mix of short answers and multiple choice?

When reps from my provincial nursing association came to speak to my grad class in the fall, they said the June 2010 exam will consist of only multiple choice questions and will be just half a day long as opposed to a full day.

hopefully it would be just multiple choice. someone is good enough to share this info..

i'll try to get a hold of cna prep guide 5th ed. so that i can have idea what the coming exam will be like.

I'm writing it in June and I heard that my university bookstore just got the 5th edition of the CNA prep guide. I'll buy it on Monday and see what it says about the exam.

The June 2010 CRNE is only multiple choice questions and it will only be half a day of testing as the exam was shortened (only 180-200 questions plus some experimental questions). The CNA website has the CRNE prep guide 5th edition for sale now (you go to the CNA website, click on the bookstore and search through the titles). Hope this information helps!

I picked up the new CRNE prep guide today. It's definitely thinner than the 4th edition and from the looks of it, it's a new prep guide and the questions are new (but don't quote me on it, I've only looked at a few of the questions and they look brand new).

There are NO short answer questions with this new prep guide, maybe that's why it's thinner than the previous edition, haha.

Hello,

I would like to know about the new Blueprint for RNs as a requirement to pass the exam.

Did anyone buy it?

If I buy the 5th edition of CRNE prep guide and the Blueprint, is it enough? (I have previous editions of Mosby, Lippincott and NCLEX books)

Thank you in advance

I bought the new prep guide and the bluepring as well, I think its better because this is a new exam so the more information you have the better.

hello, since june exam is approching soon, wondering how is everyone planning on to study? any feedback would be appreciated thanks.

Well I found it hard to go through page to page of my Mosby book but I definitely do all the questions and read through all the rationals. Then I think there are some areas that I need to go back and review them again. That's the plan and what I do now for me. How is everyone else doing it?

Thanks Akardan, your right it is a lot to go through, I will definately brush up on the topics that are in the CRNE prepguide. By the way are you writing in Ontario?

No I'm graduating from UBC and writing it in BC.

You know, I thought of making a new thread on topics on exam. Something like important stuff we come across while we review for exam. Could be on labor and maternity, paeds., med/surg and etc. What you think? I bet there are other people out there who would like to participate too but since this thread is going to be close soon, we need to open a new one.
