  1. hi Fiona, Here's what I read from the CNO website..Generally, nurses living elsewhere in Canada who can provide proof of current registration and recent safe practice as a Registered Nurse... in another Canadian province or territory are eligible to register in Ontario without undergoing additional training, experience, testing or assessment. This applies to all nurses currently registered elsewhere in Canada, regardless of where they received their nursing education. I feel and not trying to say I was singled out on my OP. And honestly, I wasn't expecting it to be fast but hey it was CNO Cust Reps twice told me it will only take 4 weeks. They're the one who set the bar. After my initial post and the responses, I realized the application will really take some time as I initially anticipated and not 4 weeks. PS. Fiona, why do you say I'm "lucky to get to practice as an RPN in Ontario"?
  2. It definitely will help but first nations experience deal with a lot with issues and health concerns similar to that of projects abroad( third world if you may). they do have lack of access to the health services to start with.
  3. I wonder why. It should be included. its the B-4 form. I'll probably call them if that's the case knowing CNO... They actually sent me an IEN package the first time whereas I requested the "registered elsewhere" application.
  4. i believe it's included in the package that CNO will send you.
  5. I would not say quick but more of continuous communication with the applicant. i'm basing this from my experience in Nova Scotia which i assume have less applicants to deal with. also, I did inquire to CNO a couple of times. They said it takes 3-4 weeks after receiving all the requirements.
  6. I was only required 3 requirements and the last of the 3 was received 2 weeks ago. No rush actually but I do expect the application process to be better than that. Just a bit surprised about the whole thing. at least send a letter to the applicant confirming they received all the requirements. what if didn't followed up on my application and just trusted them that they'll do what they are supposed to do?
  7. I hate this CNO. I'm currently trying to apply for registration in Ontario as an RN registered elsewhere in the country but the College just seem so slow processing the applications or should I say they need to streamline their process. I know they have the most applications to deal with in all provinces but come on that's not an excuse. Called them 5 days ago because I haven't been charged in my Credit card although I believed the last of the requirements they needed was received 2 weeks ago. I did send everything by Registered mail plus the Cust Rep confirmed it. She said the problem was my papers was "misfiled", assured me that she'll rectify it and she'll charge my credit card. Fine everything's moving forward now. fast forward this morning. I called again to asked if they can give me an application number or a confirmation number that they are moving forward with my application. Cust Rep told me, "oh it was misfiled but was noted 5 days ago and...". 5 days after and still nothing happened to my files. I JUST WANNA GO BALLISTIC after hearing that. I did hung up. and called them after gathring myself telling the line got cut. i don't know how long would it take them to put it in the correct files never mind the whole processing of my application. Honestly I thought it would only take a month, max. I'm just frustrated...
  8. i received my confirmation that i passed thru email from a registration officer of CRNNOva Scotia
  9. zepher, unless we can manage to have the course online, our next alternative is to work in First Nations or Northern nursing stations).
  10. I hope she never end up being my supervisor in the quantum future
  11. anybody here knows if I can include my CPNRE fee in my tax return for Ontario?
  12. do we still need to call CNO and request the tax receipt or do they just mail it to everybody?
  13. I was wondering if we should include exam fees, nursing registration or renewal fees, certification fees etc in our tax returns? sorry if this is a DUH? question.
  14. i'm taking the CRNE this June, i heard the format will be different. will it going to be a mix of short answers and multiple choice?
