Since nobody answered you and you asked twice ;), my advice is to test yourself when doing practice questions...and I believe(and heard from instructors and students) that when you get 80% or more per 100 questions in all areas of content, you are ready for the exam...now you can take that one or leave it:twocents:...but I would first test myself...where you feel weak, study the content real well in that area. I had a year off upon graduating and a few months off since Graduating so it's kicking my behind a bit:devil:, but I'll get through it, we ALL WILL!!!:anpom: Good luck and God bless.

thanks i appreciate it. i want to start with questions, but man those things are kicking my butt. i guess the ones that i'm weak in, i have to really review

Which questions would you be doing, from what source/sources? Just out of curiosity.:jester:

I'm enrolled in a Kaplan class that starts on June 16th, and I have a 3rd edition Saunders book. Also a Lippencott book, but I can't remember the edition off the top of my head. So that's why I don't know where to begin. Which book should I try to tackle first? Plus I have ATI books from when I took those in school

Everything regarding Suzanne's plan can be found in the sticky called 2008 version of Suzanne's plan. It is free and she asks very little in return but you do need to meet her requirements

Well for Kaplan, the average percentage most students get on here(on all nurses.com) is mid 50-'s -60's%(and some still pass nclex with those scores) so I wouldn't be too concerned about scoring 80% and above when testing yourself with the question trainers and Q bank.

I would definitely start off with testing myself and studying your weaker areas(I believe we should be strong in all) from the Saunder's newest edition. I would test myself with the CD and whatever other practice questions you have just to evaluate your strenghts and weaknesses. The Saunder's book is great for content...I even like to pull out my med surge book just for pictures and diagrams in addition to Sauner's. So, as far as I know, Saunder's is one of the best for content. Again good luck!:yeah:

I just finished 3 practice test from Kaplan's Qbank, 1st 52%, 2nd 52% and 3rd 73%. It's pretty tough. A lot of priority questions, not to mention the 3rd practice test was pure prioritizing. It's kind of hard to tell which areas I'm weak in. The analysis has basic care and comfort, physiologic integrity health promotion and maintenance, etc.., but I don't know what those REALLY mean. Where do I focus my studies based on those breakdowns?

its official i take nclex monday july 7th. hypoxic just wondering did your school have to take the hesi exit exam. because it really gives a detailed breakdown of weak areas. when i am doing questions i get a feel of what i really dont know when i am reading the rationales. i used saunders 3rd edition throughout school..its a pretty good book for content. as far as kaplan the instructor said they want at 65% on the qbank test an q trainer 1-4 and 60% on qtrainer 6-7. q trainer 6-7 is supposed to be the high end application and analyze questions the ones that will pass you with mininum questions on nclex. ive been avg 65-66 and my best grade was q trainer 6 with 70 (couldnt believe that!). i really dont believe that can tell if you will pass nclex based on those test unless you make 30 or something.

3 people will test July 7th here! someone else?

hey nicole rn2b, no i didnt have to take the hesi exam. we just took ati's in school. the last ati we took was a comprehensive mock nclex exam. the results of that test said that i have a 92% chance of passing the nclex on my first time. i was wondering, should i start the q trainers now, or should i wait until i start the kaplan class?
