Does anyone happen to know when they start doing interviews and also when we'll start receiving acceptance or rejection notifications?
I don't have much insight about the area around campus because I live on the Westside of Jacksonville which is about 30-40 mins away. I hope someone chimes in with some information that will help you.Congrats on starting the program.
I live on the westside also, that drive is gonna be terrible:eek: lol, which route do u plan to take, so far i have taken fuller warren and exit on university and ride it out, im sure there is an easier route
Thanks! for the books and living info.I am starting the 2nd Degree Program this summer.
I spoke to someone from housing and they recommended apartments on Monument Rd. Thats where I am beginning to look... I will also check out the roads melissa800 mentioned. thx
got the link noxtel- thank u. As far as I can understand from reading- the books are only available on campus? So I guess I'll wait a little... I will be up there this weekend to look for places but I'm afraid the school is going to be closed for registration and bookstore...

I just follow my GPS. lol
I usually just go 10E then, 95N, take Union street and go through downtown and exit on Southside Blvd to JU. I know there is a better shorter way.
Gas prices are supposed to go up this summer! (Carpool anyone?)
Has any who RSVP to Thursday's cookout received a followup email about the breakdown of the day?
About the info, I just got of the phone with the Nursing Dept and was told to wait another day or two for the info.
I was also told that there will be items to purchase at orientation (Does not HAVE to be purchased then) so we should bring a checkbook.
Hey everyone. First time writing on here. I will be in the second-degree cohort this Summer. I've been reading some of the questions that everyone has had on here and thought I could be of some help. I've lived in Jax for 10 years mostly at the beach. I am actually a licensed real estate broker associate and have a pretty good pulse on all of the areas to live around town. If any of you are still looking for a place to live, I can definitely provide you with some information.
First, I will actually have a place to rent starting in July. It's a 2 bed 1.5 bath townhouse in Jacksonville Beach. I'm asking $1,100 per month (pricey I know) but it's 5 blocks from the ocean. It's a great neighborhood. You can walk to the beach and study by the ocean and then ride your bike to all the popular beaches restaurants afterwards. My wife and I lived there for 3 years and loved it, we just had to move to get into something bigger. Great place to live.
Second, if the beach is too far or out of budget, I have access to MLS listings all around town and would be more than happy to work with any of you who are new in town that are looking for places to live free of charge. Please don't hesitate to call me at 904.219.6734 or email me at [email protected] if you would like more information.
I look forward to meeting all of you on Thursday and am very anxious to get rolling.
Do you guys have facebooks? I love allnurses but if anyone thinks it will be a good idea...i think we should also have a facebook group,,idk my boyfriends goes to Nova South and his class had a facebook group and it was pretty convenient for them all as far as exchanging info (rooming together, study sessions etc), Ive searched on facebook and JU doesnt really have an actual BSN group

I was thinking the same thing. I think we should DEFINITELY create a Facebook group page. (would the page be for specific graduating classes or just anyone in a BSN Degree Program?)
Are you going to create the page and post back here? If you need any help let me know.

I was going to ask the same question today.
I haven't received any info after I RSVP. I will call the Nursing Dept today for a follow up.
