  1. Hi, I graduated nursing school dec 2011 and went straight into psych nursing may 2012. Luckily I worked in psych 2 years before I went to nursing school so it was an easy transition as far as dealing with my patients at my job now. I recommend it if you are interested because it is often overlooked. I knew in nursing school that I didnt want to do medsurg at all, I was interested in critical care and OR and psych, didnt think I would go straight into psych but the opportunity presented itself and Im so happy and absolutely love and adore my job, I love my patients and the staff I work with. It is extremely frustrating at times when you educate your patients on med compliance and coping skills and then they return back to the unit off of their meds and in the same bad situation they were in before, however, its the same with medical floors, its just you dont get the same patients on medical floors :) I love that you are interested in psych, it tells me that you had a pretty good psych rotation, we get students all the time on my unit and I try to give them true advice, because I know in nursing school everyone thinks ER and L&D are the cool fields to go in and psych is often left out Go with your heart, you can always change fields if its not for you, thats the great part of nursing
  2. Cool, I would like to make it for anyone with a BSN degree first since there isnt one and then we could just go from there and get specifics...I would love help lol I havent created a facebook group in a long time, just let me know what we should name it and ill get it started and post it here
  3. Do you guys have facebooks? I love allnurses but if anyone thinks it will be a good idea...i think we should also have a facebook group,,idk my boyfriends goes to Nova South and his class had a facebook group and it was pretty convenient for them all as far as exchanging info (rooming together, study sessions etc), Ive searched on facebook and JU doesnt really have an actual BSN group
  4. Yay congrats!! Im also in the second degree program...yes touchton rd and southside blvd are great places to live..coventry park apartments are nice too
  5. I live on the westside also, that drive is gonna be terrible:eek: lol, which route do u plan to take, so far i have taken fuller warren and exit on university and ride it out, im sure there is an easier route
  6. Thanks for the advice, I nagged them today lol, they found my fafsa for the summer, I filled out several forms, and did my entrance exam, so now im waiting on the award letter in which my advisor said will be in this friday on webadvisor and im also taking out more loans..I can totally see them miscommunicating, they arent really that organized:uhoh3:
  7. so i went to webadvisor and looked at my award letter, ive been approved for half tuition for fall/spring:(...didnt see 09-10 summer semester, went to fin aid this morning and was told that my 09-10 fafsa form isnt showing up on JU system, called fafsa was told that i had indeed completed 09-10 fafsa form and they have no idea why JU doesnt see it , so im gonna call fin aid tomorrow and see whats going on and also are any of you 23 years old and live at home and dont want to apply for parent plus loan??lol My parents arent really feeling that idea sadface today and confusion
  8. Thanks guys, I will definitely need loans lol, I will make my way to JU this week and talk with an advisor, Thanks again
