Well it is finally here, and I take the TEAS exam at JJC next Thursday. I have been studying for over 2 months, and I still do not feel ready. I paid and took the ATI on-line TEAS exam A twice. The first time I choked, and the second time was in the 80's. I am applying to the JJC RN Spring 2015 program. Just curious if there are any other students out there like me getting ready to take the TEAS?
So excited and nervous about the RN program. It is going to be a ton of work but I'm so ready for it! I can't believe all the books we need for 150 and pharm. Unbelievable! Anyone else excited and nervous?
where'd you find out what books we need? I tried looking under the search/register section and the books said "TBD"
Does anyone know if we should bring anyone with us for the workshop? This is kind of embarrassing but my mom is interested in going. Maybe I should email someone?
I found this online, and thought it might help all of us understand the program a wee bit better. Granted it is not the updated version but fall 2014 nursing student handbook version.
KC, I thought the funding was the same but wasn't sure. It's good to hear because now you can get the proverbial ball rolling and get what you need for the program. Well I just finished my phlebotomy class finals and pulled an A. Now I'm waiting on clinicals December 1st-20th so I can get my second grade. The class is worth 8.5 credits. I was a bit worried because the phlebotomy grading is the same as the R.N. grading with 80% or better being an C. However, I pulled it off and was relieved I got my A so all is good. The 80% or better wasn't that bad but the questions on the tests were the same format as the R.N. program so that was different but very doable. It was like here are your choices and they are all correct but what is most correct. So I'm not as worried as I was before. However, I don't get to sit for my ASCP certification till like the end of January and that sucks because I will be in the R.N. program by then and I am sure will be quite busy, but it is what it is and I will get it done. Now I am taking a small breather and relaxing my brain a bit. I am looking forward to R.N. registration on the 12th. I am excited to order our clinical jackets and purchase our grape scrubs. I had phlebotomy in the new R.N. building on the third floor twice a week from 5-10 P.M. and I saw the new R.N. evening students there twice a week working on their labs. All I can say is that I am excited to get this ball rolling and feeling blessed! See you all soon!
Does anyone else have an issue with the "night program"?
I have 2 classes that begin at 4 and a clinical that begins at 2...
From what I understand, this is the earliest they have offered these night classes.
I assumed "night" would be at least five or after.
I was not prepared for these start times. This puts my family and I in a difficult situation.
madeaje-sorry to hear about the hours in the night program. During registration they said you could come to them if you had a problem with the scheduling, and they were working on a few students at registration with switching their hours. Our green packet states that if you have an issue with your schedule to contact Jorie Kulczak and ask, and then maybe she can switch your hours.
Sam-I have Theory M&F 8-10 A.M., Clinical-Topics Thurs. 8-10 A.M., and Clinicals on Tues. 7 A.M till 1:00 P.M.
However, the whole schedule hours are as follows: Theory 150 states: 8-9:50, 10-11:50, 1-2:50, 4-5:50. Clincal Topics 150: 8-10, 10-12, 1-3, 5:15-7:05. Clincals: 7-1, 2-8.
I hope that helped!
