  1. Have you considered OR nursing or PACU? Based on your post, I think these two areas may appeal to you. Also, if your going to get your RN, you should plan on getting your BSN. Otherwise, I think you may have limited options.
  2. If that is the night program, what are the hours for the day program? Did they say why they are changing the night program to something so early?
  3. I do believe there are just too many nurses. Period. This is another reason to make BSN the entry level to practice. The American Association of Respiratory Therapists just announced their plan to implement the the bachelors in respiratory therapy the entry level requirement by 2020. I think the nursing profession is getting left behind. Having the BSN requirement would place more value on each individual nurse. I feel so bad for you FL nurses. I cant imagine taking such a drastic cut. It really is a slap in the face for administration to be so ready and willing to take advantage of the nurses.
  4. I have a family member that uses a chiroprater as there regular doctor. And by that I mean, she brings herself and the 3 kids there for wellness check ups. Im sorry but I firmly believe those 3 kids should be seeing a medical professional (md, pa, np) at least once a year for their check ups....not a chiropractor. I would not work for one and would be too embarrassed to admit it if I did.
  5. They said they wanted to jump you and fight you????? WTH, is this 2nd grade or a place of employment? I would go to the DON and let them know what physical violence was threatened and you are feeling this is a hostile work environment and you want it to stop now! Hopefully they will drop the hammer on these aides. Other than that, act professional and do your job to your best ability. You are not there to make friends. It still blows my mind that this nonsense seems to run rampant in certain nursing situations. My husband, who is a engineer, almost doesn't believe me when I tell him stories like this...he just cant wrap his head around it.
  6. I am hoping things go your way DUIRN. Please keep us updated...
  7. No this is not normal.... at least not in my marriage.
  8. Didnt everyone learn that lesson by third grade??
  9. What did you get Dave? Sending positive wishes and thoughts that you got the score you needed.
  10. Are they doing away with the LPN program? When you click on the link for LPN, it says "program not found"...
  11. So chemistry is no longer needed to apply to the program?
  12. Welcome to LTC and nursing homes. Although some will say that all nursing homes are not like the one you experienced, In MY experiences, every single nursing home was exactly like you describe. Its so sad and disgusting, you end up crying or quitting.
  13. Can I ask you KCAmbition, who did you take for BIO 250? Ive been hearing how hard that class is and I cant decide who I should take for it. I wont be ready to take bio 250 for 2 more semester yet but am getting anxious about it already lol. Good luck on you application! Your gpa looks great.
  14. This a thousand times over...
  15. Forgive my ignorance as I really don't know much at all about advance practice nursing. I was wondering, can CARN-AP (certified addictions registered nurses, advance practice) prescribe meds? Or are only NP's allowed to prescribe?
