Where are all the SVC students at? (spring 2015)
You have to have passed the state exam and be registered with the state to get the cna points. If you wernt planning on doing it I would suggest you do. I don't know of anyone in our class that got in w/o their cna Hoped that helped.

Where are all the SVC students at? (spring 2015)
Ok, so for everyone that has been accepted into the spring quarter entry I have a couple questions. 1. Are you guys buying your stethoscope, clipboard, gloves, etc soon or are you waiting for an actual list to be handed out that outlines what is required. 2. How is the reading going? I just finished up reading the two assigned books, and the nursing fundamentals book I found very dry, and hard to read while the pharmacology book I found interesting and easy to grasp. 3. Will you guys be going to the april 6th event?

Where are all the SVC students at? (spring 2015)
Hopefully I am not affected, I have mine scheduled on March 6 and 9th since I had a live vaccine I had to wait 28 days before I received another one.. and it didn't help that the varicella was a two shot dose. I am taking my vaccines in on the 24 as well, Just in case... I don't know about you guys but I ecstatic to be starting school...

Update!
I took a spiral notebook and when through the whole book and wrote all the bolded words in my own definition or online definitions. So main idea, supporting details, commas, eclipses, etc. For the Math section I wrote down each section and the example problems and solved them without looking at the answer, and then I did the practice problems as well. I just sat down and forced my self to read and re-read the book and then my notes until I felt good. Then I would look up Main idea, eclipses, and all the other sections online and get a better grasp on them.

Update!
So I initially took the test about a month ago and I thought I was prepared well in every section, but I disregarded math and I showed on my results. I took the test again yesterday and let me tell you I felt so good about it afterword's! I scored a 84 which was a 10% increase from my previous score and a 24% increase from the ATI pretests.i missed my desired score by 3% but I am extremely happy with my results. In other news i talked to the nursing admission secretary and found out the average acceptance was an 82. I am extremely happy and will be applying for spring entry into the program. Sorry for the mismatched sentences as I'm typing really fast and excited !

Teas V... just scared
I got a 75, which isn't as high as I wanted. Im scheduled to retake it again on the 28th and hopefully I can shoot that up. I think what got me was the constant time going down. Thats all I could focus on.

Teas V... just scared
I took the TEAS V through PSI testing which makes me wait 48 hours until the scores are posted. As you can imagine I'm practically dying inside wanting to know what score I got. Ill keep everyone posted.

Best order for science prereqs
I personally would do chemistry or micro first, followed by the two A&P. Chemistry and Micro both have advantages to them that by taking them before A&P can help you succeed in those classes.

TEAS 5 Prep Help
I would get the ATI study guide and as you go thorough your chemistry and biology, look at the book and mark what you need to know that way when its brought up in class you know to make sure to understand it completely (not like you wouldn't), and you keep any notes or material related to that section. Since you still have a while, I personally would split the sections into the three remaining months and study little by little. The last month I would go over everything and print out worksheets for the subjects I didn't understand and work them out. I am taking my teas today and let me tell you that no matter how long you have been studying for you will still feel nervous and unsure about the test. Trust what you know, and you'll do great.

Teas V... just scared
This year was the first year that the teas was required for entry into the program. When I originally started my pre-reqs they required about a 3.8 GPA in the pre-req classes along with an interview. When I visited the nursing department they informed me that the average teas was an 87 give or take, and they will only allow you to take it two times within two years, from the time you submit your original test scores. I am able to retake it, but am hoping thats not the case.

Teas V... just scared
I have studied the ATI book for about 2 months now and I have a pretty solid basis in math and science, yet for some weird reason I feel like I am going to bomb the test. My reading and english are not bad, but are not up to par with my math and science so for the last few days I have been stressing my self out. My test is scheduled for the 10/6 and my whole career rides on me scoring at least an 87%. I am a 3.9 student with all my science pre reqs being A's and yet I am scared for a test thats multiple choice.. Sorry I just needed to vent a little. No one around me seems to understand the stress that comes with taking this test.
