Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

Also, I see someone posted that the estimated cost of attendance is around 130k? Is that just tuition or including room and board because I saw the estimated cost of attendance for the previous year was around 68k and updating it to the current cost per unit would put it to be around 75k. Thanks!!
Los Angeles here. 68K is for one year (3 semesters) and this program is 22 months (5 semesters).

Thank you! I just went back to look that info up and you're completely right. I don't know how I missed that.
Is anyone considering to continue into the DNP program at Hopkins after the Masters portion? Also for those that received the scholarship, is that a one time award or is that for each year?

Awe thank you very much!! I appreciate it
@randocurmudgeon my email hasn't been filling up with memes all weekend! I have missed you! I take it all decisions are out? Thank you for helping us by providing an outlet for our frustrations.
For the people on the wait-list- I found out I was accepted on Friday and will be giving up my spot. I want get an APRN, so I might as well go straight for it. Fingers crossed you all get in. I know how stressful this process is on everyone and your still in limbo, hopefully it's over soon.
For anyone one rejected. I know it is rough. Keep at it, you will find your place. Know your worth, best of luck.

Oh that's a lot better. Do you have a link for that? Here's the one I saw: https://nursing.jhu.edu/academics/programs/pre-licensure/masters-entry/
To clarify, this $100,000 estimate per academic year from 2020-2021 included other fees, and "estimated annual living expenses" at $20,000 per year. I extrapolated to 5 semesters becoming 1.66 years (with 3 semesters in a year), so $166,000 total expenses. (I wrote $130,000 before, my bad).

The 68k is on that page. Closer to 69k. But that is only for tuition and health insurance for 1 year (and does not include books, uniforms or living expenses). That is pure tuition bill price, as cost of living can vary.

I would love to continue straight into the DNP program!
The scholarship said "a Nursing Leadership Scholarship in the amount of $15,000 for your program. To receive the scholarship, you must enroll in your program and remain a student in good standing. Scholarships and grants are split over the duration of the program."

For those of you wanting to continue to the DNP program, how many credits of our entry level MSN will be applicable to that program (if any)? Also, would it be an additional 4 years? My end goal is to become a nurse practitioner, but the Johns Hopkins' name is tempting me to enroll in this program and then later pursue a DNP. But I'm also hesitant because of finances and time.

I don't know your answer on the credits or timing, but I get what you mean about feeling hesitant. I wonder if I should just do an ABSN then get a job to help pay for the rest of my education through DNP. Also, would I feel I "got the Hopkins" name enough if I worked for them later? That's an expensive question.

Hello, this is what I gathered. It is 16 credits that you can apply from the MSN entry into the DNP program.

I am there with you. There are way cheaper and quicker ways to become an RN and then get into dnp programs. But at the same time, Hopkins sounds very tempting. Still hesitant if it would be the right financial choice.
