Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021

Published

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

I just found out I was waitlisted! It's not a no... ??

@nutritionandnursing There is a facebook page for JHUSON MSN program for all cohorts and you can ask those questions on there and get some pretty helpful info. I've been out there and it all depends on where you want to live, but I think it would be helpful, especially with clinical assignments. I'm a Californian too, whereabouts are you from?

Ooh thank you, I'll check it out! I'm from San Diego! Definitely going to be a transition

First time post but got waitlisted as well! Does anyone know when accepting the waitlist spot you should write anything in the comments section?

I'm from SD too! Just know it gets really cold and humid out there, obviously not at the same time. But it's a cool area and DC is a fairly quick train ride away. ?

Waitlisted as well and I'm in Colorado.

I wish they told us our # on the waitlist!

Right! Me too, it would give us a more clear understanding on whether we should continue to be invested in this process. Im just gonna relax now, if I    get in that would be great but if not then it wasn't meant to be LOL. Wishing you goodluck!

Is that why you decided to decline? Such a bummer after all that stress and waiting! ?

Seriously! Now to wait on all the other schools... ?

Does anyone have any idea of how many they accept off the waitlist?
I wonder if we will hear by next week or the next few months.

Some questions for the people because I like to plan ahead and also because I'm really excited!

1. Do we need a car? I'm coming from California so I'm wondering if its worth it figure out how to get my car to MD.

2. When exactly does the program start? (LOL I feel like I should know this)

3. How soon in advance is it recommend to find housing? Where I went to college people secured houses as early as January for the fall so wonderin g if I need to jump on that soon

1. I'm from CA also and you do not need a car according to current students when I attend  "JHSON Virtual Student Panel: Life of a Hopkins Nursing Student" in late January.

2. White coat is 8/26/21 and first day of class is 8/30/21

3. More housing choices will be available in April since people graduate from JHUSON program in May. I've been looking for housing and I've narrowed it down to Mt. Vernon since it is the most convenient to commute. These 3 apartments are one block from JHMI shuttle that takes you to school of nursing campus: 611 Park Ave, 500 Park Ave and 520 Park Ave.

Hmmm I’m personally not accepting my spot on the waitlist but I have a feeling that spots will open up faster than you may think. A lot of people applied to multiple schools so there’s a possibility that a lot of people might not commit! Even on this thread a decent amount of people are not committing. Just adding some positivity!
