Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021

Published

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

Anyone else checking their email every 20 minutes even though they know the decisions won’t come out for a while ? LOL

Yes! LOL

I really hope we all get to start this journey together! xoxo

Hi everyone!

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but can someone please explain how they release admission decisions? So do they do it in two waves- like in January for they who applied early and then later for those who submitted by the priority deadline? Also does applying later in the cycle greatly impact your chance of admission? I am quite confused LOL

Thanks

Yes to two waves. Not sure when the second one will be, probably March?

I thought that those who applied early would have a better chance of getting in, but when I asked the admissions staff they said there is  no difference in chances. They will weigh your application the same, whether you applied early or not.

Long time lurker! But I can confirm that the second one will be in March (for those like me applying for the January 1 deadline). I emailed and asked. Good luck to those hearing about decisions soon! Happy Holidays ❤️

good luck to everyone hearing back soon! Does anyone know statistics like how many people apply each year/each round and how many spots there are in the program?

Hey everyone, I was just in a chat with the admissions team and they said that decisions will be released after NEW YEAR. So like Jan. 7 ish!

Question.. did the team specifically say the 7th?

Hi! and they said "Decisions are going to be released after New year.. like the 7th" so it might be the 7, hopefully sooner.

Thanks for writing! ?

First time poster here.  I can answer some of your questions.  I just spoke to Laura P., Asst. Dir. for Recruitment, this morning.  I completed my application in November, but I missed the Nov 1 deadline.  I was expecting a decision in March, but she said even though I missed the Nov 1 deadline, I am in the Nov 1 group, and decisions for this group will go out approximately Jan 8 - Jan 11.  She also said they received more applications than they ever have in the past.  With that said, I wish you all the best!!  Now, I have a question.  I really hope I don't stand out like a sore thumb--are there any other "middle-aged" students applying for Fall?

I am 37 ? and wow.. as much as I hate to admit, I am a little bummed now about the larger applicant numbers. I suppose if it is meant to be it will be.
