Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins entry into nursing MSN program for January 2021 applicants. I just started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the July 1st deadline. Anyone else?? ?
Also, if anyone previously accepted here has any application tips, please do share. Thank you!
CONGRATS on UMSON... Minnesota is great. I lived there. I emailed JHU and was told decisions have not been made yet, and when they do, messages will be sent out in batches; the email also asked for me to call or reach out to them if I don't hear anything by next Friday.
I am so anxious but I have GWU starting the same time so if I don't get into JHU I can always be in nursing school.
Good luck everyone.

That’s great congratulations on GWU!! UMSON is university of Maryland LOL
I assume it means she got into UMSON. I thought she meant the University of Maryland, LOL.
As for GWU, sounds like a good plan. I know I got into CSU EB before JHU. I was more relieved than excited getting into CSU EB because I knew I was going somewhere. JHU I was excited because it's a good school and I had now options to choose from.
Unfortunately, this is the hard...waiting. Decisions will be sent before you notice.

Oh UMSON (Univ of MD) got it..LOL. I am really hoping I get into JHU but either way, both schools are good.
Did you try reaching out to JHU admissions team?

@GuyNursegh I reached out to them last week and the assistant director ------------------ said:
We are on track to have Spring 2021 decisions out around the second week of September.
So I am guessing we will start hearing from Tuesday then.

All my essays were over three hundred words. Basically, look at the word count requirement as a way to try to get you to be more concise in what you want to say.
The bigger thing, NursingCAS is very strict on the 3000 character limit. It cuts off whatever you input in the text box at 3000, whether it's a word or middle of a word. 3000 characters is approximately 500 to 600 words.
I would not worry about being over a word count as long as what you have written is strong and builds upon what you're trying to express. Remember, this is where you're selling yourself.
