Johns Hopkins Entry MSN Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I just completed my application for JHU Entry into MSN Nursing Spring 2020 application. I was waitlisted for Fall 2019 and was not accepted. Anyone else out there applying for a second time? Who has completed their application? Best of LUCK!

Johns Hopkins is very curious when it comes to who they accept and why. Their acceptance rate is 46% which is pretty high so honestly I think you have a great shot right now. I do think it would be beneficial for you to get some healthcare experience (volunteer or paid) and get involved in the underserved community.

They seem to admit a diverse amount of people from all different backgrounds and experiences. I noticed a good amount of people have had no healthcare experience either, which actually kind of baffles me. They must have had something else that caught their attention and the applicants must have somehow known they wanted to do nursing by some other means.

I have a 3.08 undergrad GPA, took the GRE and it was a little above average. I don't think you need the GRE. I've been working in healthcare for 4+ years as an Endo MA, medical team at raves/music festivals, scribe in the ER and underserved clinics. I feel like my essays were pretty good in representing my goals, strengths and passions. I was accepted for Spring 2020. I'm still debating between JHU and Rush in Chicago, but as of right now, I'm leaning towards JHU until I visit both campuses this coming weekend ?

For the accepted students, can you share which areas you are looking to rent apartments from and also where are the safe and recommended zones that students usually reside?

I was looking at HH Midtown apartments and it looks quite decent but I am not sure of the environs.

I was told the inner harbor and Fells Point are considered the safest areas to live. I just got an apartment at 414 light street, is anyone else locating there?

I have been looking at a lot of different apartments, all of which seem to accept dogs. However, there is a restricted dog breed list...Idk if doberman are on the list.

Does anyone know when the waitlist People will hear back?

Is it just me, but is this program pretty easy to get into? Makes me question how the number 1 MSN program in the nation has such a seemingly high acceptance rate. Just reading through past years forums, feel like almost everyone gets in. Like has anyone actually gotten rejected from here? haha. Just curious as to what you all think

I’m glad I’m not the only one that actually thinks that! But I think, to other people’s point, not a lot of people actually apply. So from the perspective the pool of students is smaller. I think less than 1,000 people apply.

Does anyone know if there is a page for Fall 2020 applicants?

I'm applying for Fall Entry

Did anyone receive their acceptance for Spring 2020 (May Start)? I got accepted today but clueless on the area since I am from California. Wanted to see if others have a better insight on the program/living situations.

Specializes in MSN-E student.

I was just accepted off of the wait list. Very excited to meet all my future fellow classmates! I'll be coming in from California:)
