Hi all - maybe I am jumping the gun, but has anyone else begun working on their applications for Summer/Fall 2010 admission?
I plan on applying for direct entry to JHU, UCSF, Yale, Columbia, and Vanderbilt. With the exception of UCSF's 9/1 deadline, the rest seem to be due between 11/1 and 12/1. Although UCSF has the closest deadline, I am stressing the most about the essays for JHU. Anyone started them yet?
Also, does anyone plan on attending the open house that JHU is having in September? I would love to go, but I am in California, so I have to decide if it is worth the $$$. I am thinking I might be better off saving the money to fly out for the interview (positive thinking here).
Anyway, I would love to compare notes with anyone applying, or anyone who applied last year.
Thanks and good luck!
Ok, I need to vent. I still haven't heard anything, although I'm not holding out for much hope now. Still, it would be nice to know officially either way ASAP. This waiting has been so frustrating! It feels like an election night 10 days later where they are still counting the ballots. I wish they would just go ahead and email everyone once they get back in the office with a yay or nay. I keep getting emails this week reminding me of their Spring Open House at the end of the month! So, it looks like someone has been working in the office this week. How many others are still waiting?
ugh...that is very frustrating, sorry i've been checking their weather update thing on their website, and it seems like the school has pretty much been closed all week. it sounds like the snow really messed stuff up down there.
i know at least some admissions staff have been working from home, because they alluded to it in an email i got (saying they would send the hard copy of my acceptance letter in the mail as soon as they were back in the office). not sure if anyone is in the office or not.
maybe try calling or emailing admissions if you haven't already?
good luck!
Hi everyone!
Congrats to those who have gotten acceptances! I've applied regular decision traditional BSN-MSN and the snow has definitely put some major delays on the acceptance process. I'm currently an undergrad at hopkins and the entire school system has been closed all week. I've been so excited to be so close to hearing a decision but now I have to reschedule my interview! Is there anyone else out there who applied regular decision traditional BSN-MSN?
Hey guys, Congrats to all who got accepted!! I got in for Accelerated BSN/MSN peds specialty :) Does anyone know about how long the entire program will take to complete? Thanks!
HowserDoogie - I'm still waiting to hear a decision for the Accelerated BSN/MSN track. i just called the Admissions Office, and they said they're delayed from the blizzard, but they are planning on sending out snail mail next week. They mentioned that not receiving a phone call is not necessarily indicative of being rejected. I'm honestly beginning to lose hope though, since it's been 2 weeks since everyone has already heard from JHU...
Has anyone out there heard about being waitlisted?
Okay ... I have been reading everyone's comments since the beginning of February, and am so distraught I could crap diamonds. I applied the traditional route for fall 2010. I have called the admissions department and despite my attempt in trying to coax info from the receptionist I was told to wait like a good boy. Congrats to all who have been accepted, and to all waiting ... I feel your pain. I guess I'll keep pulling my hair, biting my nails and harassing the mail man until the damn letter comes. I am dying here people!! Best of Luck - Jabs

As amojo said, the deposit is not binding for us. it just ensures our spot and is then applied to our tuition if we end up going to that program. its def not cheating to put down deposits at more than one place. since the schools are all on different schedules with acceptances and financial aid offers, they are kind of asking for that. of course, its good manners to inform a school as soon as you know you won't be attending, so they can offer the spot to someone else.
