Johns Hopins Accelerated BSN

Published

Hello everyone,

I am applying to JHU's Accelerated BSN program. I am wondering if anyone can offer any insight into how competitive the admissions process is, what GRE scores are considered good, etc.

Also, if anyone is/was enrolled in the program, any insider information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Stacy

Wait you said a friend of a friend received a rejection letters a few weeks ago? I really don't want to keep my hopes up but I mean...if that is the case then I really hope most rejection letters were sent out a whiiile ago. I know they said for ED that they review applicants on a rolling basis. That's why I assumed that if you sent it early (mine was complete sometime in early October) then you would probably hear back first, at least about rejection if its true they give acceptances only on December 15th. I have my A&P final on the 15th too which is going to be horrible so if I get good news that may actually MAKE my day...I'm not going to keep my hopes up though...it is HOPKINS.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!!!

Also...I don't get it, are they allowed to leave voicemails? Because what IF its the day of and they need to reach me but I'm in my final and can't pick up...

Well if someone got rejection letter a few weeks ago, then maybe no news is really good news! :yeah: Im driving myself crazy wanting to know lol. Didn't hear anything today, so as of tomorrow 4 more days! Wow, why is this so anxiety inducing! Im really ok with either decision since I have other schools I applied to, but I just want to know! Id rather go to Hopkins, the only downfall is the cost!!! Crossing my fingers for all of us~! If anyone hears anything keep us posted!:dncgbby:

Hi Everyone,

I am also anxiously awaiting a phone call!!!

FYI: A friend of a friend received a rejection letter a couple of weeks ago so perhaps no news by now really is good news!

Really? A rejection already for ED to the ABSN program? How interesting... Are you sure that's what happened, hopeful? Maybe it was some kind of special circumstance or the person had something preventing him/her from being considered as an applicant (i.e., s/he wouldn't finish a bachelor's degree before the program started).

I am really going crazy over here! If we don't hear anything tomorrow, this weekend will be torture!

I just hate not knowing. I hate being pessimistic, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up, because it would be such a blow to get bad news after all of this anticipation. :sniff:

I had a bad ED experience when I was applying for college. I applied ED to my first choice school and ended up getting a deferral on 12/15 and eventually a rejection in April. It was so upsetting and I can't stop dreading it from happening again! Argh!

I'm not sure about the rejection for an ED ABSN applicant, that's just what the poster above posted.

Sounds like the BSN/MSN applicants are starting to hear back from the school and getting their interviews, so maybe that's how it works. First the BSN/MSN and then the BSN applicants?

Just finished a final, so my mind is a flurry.

Sorry about the confusion! Yeah I didnt know anyone who got the rejection letter, I just read it in the previous post. Yes, this weekend will be torture if we dont hear tomorrow! It just seems weird that they wait until the 15th to notify the accepted people, and would tell the others before then. hmmmmm.

Hope we start hearing something soon, or I hope the 15th comes fast! Hang in there everyone!

Hey California_girl where are you located? I'm in West LA.

Does anyone know how I can check the contact information I listed on my application? I want to make sure that my outgoing message on my phone (in case I'm at work and can't pick up) says "Hi Johns Hopkins, thank you for accepting me." LOL

I think that person who got the rejection letter was probably applying to the BSN/MSN program, but this is pure speculation. What usually happens with those is you have two rounds of acceptances and rejections. The first round you are either invited to an interview or not and the second round you are given a place at the school or not. Since this person was rejected 'a few weeks ago' that probably means he or she was not invited back for an interview. Again this is pure speculation, I've only read the post. Still out here going bananas waiting for word.

I don't think this is the case. Hopkins is pretty clear in that they interview everyone that submits and application to the BSN/MSN program, early decision or not. I applied ED for the BSN/MSN and had my interview back in October, and that's what they told me then. I'm still waiting to hear either way.

I don't know if it helps or hurts knowing this - but they have started making early decision notification calls. I was called about an hour ago - I'm in for the traditional BSN/MSN FNP track!

Good luck to everyone!
