Hello everyone,
I am applying to JHU's Accelerated BSN program. I am wondering if anyone can offer any insight into how competitive the admissions process is, what GRE scores are considered good, etc.
Also, if anyone is/was enrolled in the program, any insider information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Stacy
I actually emailed a staff in the JHU SON and asked if they will be calling successful applicants about their application, and she said they did last year, but because they got so much applications this year compared than last year, she's not sure if they will be making these calls. So if you don't get a call from the SON, that doesn't really mean anything.
Good luck to all us.

Theoretically, this shouldn't affect the ability to call...unless they want to use that time to review applications. It's not a big deal or anything, and I'm certainly not preaching how they should notify students (particuarly as my future is at their mercy), but more applications just means more rejections. The class size/the number of students who enroll from those accepted should be statistically similar to previous years. Only the admission percentage and selectively rating/reputation would change (as if it isn't hard enough to get in). =D.
Eliminating calls is probably best. I can do w/o, but only because i like the status quo of admission notification.
I did apply early decision, so I will (I guess) await the forthcoming letter.
Question: If rejected/wait listed as an early decision candidate, would I automatically be recirculated into the pool of regular decision candidates?
I wish the ax would just fall, as it were. I want to go to JHU more than anything, but the anxiety is getting to me now. :-)

i've also applied to early decision for absn starting in 2010. getting SO nervous about hearing back...
it's interesting that they might not call this year when they usually did in previous years. ack, just want to know already!
i just wanted to verify, nurse_i_want_to_be - the admissions office told you that if not accepted on early decision, we will not be reconsidered with the regular decision pool? interesting... i wasn't aware of that!
That's right when I was considering applying ED (I eventually did) and when I visited the school I met with an admissions counselor who informed me that the main difference about ED is that whatever decision that make is final. There is no waitlist for ED applicants, nor do they get thrown in with regular decision applicants. Good luck everyone! Crossing my fingers..

The earliest admissions notices go out arond DEC 9th or so, based on forum posts of admission from 2008.
