Johns Hopins Accelerated BSN

Published

Hello everyone,

I am applying to JHU's Accelerated BSN program. I am wondering if anyone can offer any insight into how competitive the admissions process is, what GRE scores are considered good, etc.

Also, if anyone is/was enrolled in the program, any insider information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Stacy

Yeah - all the stuff on the JHU website says December 15th, but on forum posts on this website from 2007 and 2008 people got notice as early as the 7th of December.

So...hopefully they'll just hurry up and tell us. The suspense is literally killing me! I can't eat or sleep and I spaz everytime the phone rings. I'll make sure to post something here ASAP if I get a call.

Good luck everyone :-)

totally! isn't it funny that all of us are sitting here in suspense, speculating so intensely?

i wish we knew for sure it was going to be one specific day so we could anticipate exactly when we could find out. is that too much to ask? :)

In another JHU thread someone said they called the admissions office and calls will be made no sooner than Dec. 15th, but rejection letters will be posted before then so that they arrive by Dec. 15th. Just an FYI...

Re: Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN Fall 2010 Anyone?

Hey all,

I called JHU SON last week and inquired about how they would be "sending" out acceptance/rejection letters. I told the woman who answered that I know that acceptance phone calls were made earlier last year and would it be a similiar process. She informed me that they would make phone calls on December 15, and no earlier. She was very adamant about this. She also said that it was a fun day for them to hear all the excited reactions of accepted students. She also noted that not-accepted applicants would find out before December 15 via a letter or a different phone call. So i have been grudgingly checking my mailbox everyday since the 1st of December....hehe. She also informed me that they received over 600 applications for the accelerated program (I doubt they were all ED), so it was uber competitive. I also don't think that if you turned in your application early, they you will find out early (i.e., I turned mine in in September and interviewed in September as well--this has been a long and hard wait for me).

I wish everyone luck. Only a week left to go!

Anyone get any news today? I just checked the mail and nada...whew. But I'm still nervous...is it true that they will be making phone calls before the 15th to those who were rejected? Are you sure it's not a letter that they send? I find it a little odd that they would feel comfortable telling people over the phone that they are not good enough. I wonder...

I was just going to ask the same thing! If no one has heard anything, it sounds like no news is good news at this point! Interesting, though, since people did start hearing on 12/9 last year!

I'm nervous, too, HopefulABSN! Are you on the west coast or east coast? I imagine there wouldn't be any more calls coming today since it's already 5:30 over there!

I applied to the accelerated and tradtional BSN Hopkins with Early deadline, I sent mine in October. I havent heard anything yet either. Hoping no news is good news! Only 5 more days until the 15th so hoping I dont hear until then! Even though Im dying to know! I also applied to Towson, and AACC (which AACC would only be my RN though). I was just worried I wouldnt get in somewhere, maybe Im being paranoid! Has anyone heard anything as of today? Good luck everyone!!

Nope - nothing today or yesterday! And I live in northern VA, so if they'd sent out rejection letters I'd be among the first to receive one given my proximity to Baltimore.

Guess we gotta stay positive!

Hi Everyone,

I am also anxiously awaiting a phone call!!!

FYI: A friend of a friend received a rejection letter a couple of weeks ago so perhaps no news by now really is good news!

I haven't heard anything either (sigh). I am holding off on applying to other schools, aside from the three I initially applied for, until I hear from Hopkins-- what a stressful process this can be!

If I don't make it into Hopkins, I have at least two more months before Columbia makes their decisions. I guess I would really have to exercise some patience if that happens.

Good luck all!

Still waiting here in Los Angeles. My roommate applied to the tradtional program with ED and I to the ABSN with no early ED. Neither one of us has heard anything. Tick tock tick tock. Just need to get through today's finals and I can really spend my time getting crazy over the mail.

I have to say, it really does help to know that there are others who are going through as much anxiety about this as I am. Those ticks and tocks are so loud, sugarlips! But we'll know for sure, either way, in 5 days. I can't wait to hear something!

Huh...wow...well I guess you're right that no news is good news. Everytime my phone rings or I check the mail my heart skips a beat. Time goes by so slowly when you're stalking the mailman!

I'm on East coast time and as of 1pm here, no phone calls today either. *sigh*
