John Muir New Grad Residency Fall 2022

Published

Hi guys! The deadline for John Muir Health is approaching, and thought I would make thread for the Fall 2022 app cycle. Best of luck to you all! Did you specify what units you wanted in your CV?

I didn't have an interview, but I did attend the zoom session the day prior to the application deadline and they mentioned they did not have any NICU openings for this current cohort ?

Is there a recording of the zoom session anywhere?

I'm not sure, they never emailed it to us or let us know if it would be posted for future reference

Yeah unfortunately the units listed as available were not totally accurate, I can't remember off the top of my head if they had mentioned they had some L&D or mother baby openings. I believe they did not mentioned explicitly whether they did or did not have any openings for those. Hoping you will still be called for an interview!

Under their FAQ they mention the units participating are based on organizational needs...so very vague. I remember during the info session, they said no L&D, but there will be opportunities to get into L&D at John Muir after you finish one year on your unit after completing your residency program. Sorry if that is worded weird. I think they said they needed nurses for ICU, oncology, and other med-surg units, especially in Concord, so I'm hopeful that med-surg people will get a call soon if they are still interviewing for 2 weeks

Do you happen to remember the dates of when interviews end/decisions are released and the program is set to start? I see the information is no longer found on their website.

Someone who had an ICU interview this week said they would be interviewing for 2 more weeks. I know they wanted RN licenses by July 25th, so I assume around then is when they will give out offers. The program starts on August 15th

I attended that zoom meeting and they def said alot of information that wasnt listed on the application. I would say the following are some of the key things mentioned......

Interviews are expected to be from June 6th and continue through June 18th. Interviews are onsite at both the locations, but zoom is available for out of state candidates.

Final decisions & offers will be extended until July 8th. Program begins on August 15th and you must have your license no later than July 25th

Anticipated openings are in Med Surg, Step-Down, ICU, OR and behavioral health     (fyi they said they anticipate around 30-35 people to be hired in total for this cohort)

Good luck to everybody!!

Does anyone know what interview questions they ask? Thank you! and good luck everyone!
