I'm looking at moving to the Sunshine coast next year, can anyone give me some advise as to where the best place is to look for work up there. I would prefer hospital base employment. And is it easy to find work.
Thanks

If you want to work in the public hospital system I believe that in Queensland you need to contact Queensland health. All Aussies are entitled to free health care. Most cancer surgery is done through the public hospital system as is all trauma care and medical treatments
If you want to work in a private hospital try Ramsey Health, St Jonh of Gods, Healthscope, and a few others. Try Wikipedia for a list.
You need to get your registration sorted. Talk to the international recruiter at the private hospitals. It is a bit different in Queensland that Victoria so not sure how it works in the public system. 2 of my friends from the UK got work on the Sunshine Coast with little trouble, they got their visa sponsorship transferred, and they had registration already

We have national Registration so I would call or email AHPRA to see what the process is.
It's relatively new to Australia, so expect some mucking around.
I don't know what to private system is like in QLD, but here in SA, they have higher patient ratios and not as many leave entitlements - so I work in the Public system.

Starting point would be where are you moving from?
Thanks for your replies, it has helped me a lot.
I am moving from Canberra . I have just heard that it is hard to get work up there.

I got plenty of offers from Queensland when I applied, and they always have vacancies posted on several websites, I had 2 offers, one palliative care, one oncology.
If I moved up there (I'm from South Australia) I'd do intensive care, but I don't think you'd struggle getting a job up there, google Queensland Health or NCAH (Nursing Careers Allied Health)

I live on the Sunshine Coast. Have you signed up to any job alerts through QLD Health or seek.com.au? That might be the best way for you to see what is available here.
There are always jobs around. :)

Hello there, I'm a newbie here. And currently anxious of processing my papers because I don't know where to start. I hope you could help me. These are some of my questions:
1. How to apply a work visa for Australia?
2. What are the requirements I should need passed or registered?
3. To where will I mail the applications?
I hope there are some nurses here who already done the steps in migrating to australia and could help me.
Very much appreciated. thanks
