Jobs at the Sunshine coast

Published

I'm looking at moving to the Sunshine coast next year, can anyone give me some advise as to where the best place is to look for work up there. I would prefer hospital base employment. And is it easy to find work.

Thanks

Go here: http://www.ahpra.gov.au/ and speak with them, they will help you with what requirements are needed.

Do they have research subjects in the Phillipino Bachelor of Science in Nursing?

@Ceridwyn Not to sound pedantic but it's "Filipino" - not "Phillipino". I wouldn't mind it much but you seem to always spell it wrong. Regarding nursing research, it is a mandate to have at least 3 units dedicated to nursing research (biostatistics or health statistics excluded) before earning the bachelor. It is also mandated by the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission to apply it under a community setting before taking the national licensure exam. I remember when I took my national nursing boards (June 2008) that module 5 had about 25 items regarding the topic. You are welcome to contact the Philippine Nursing Research Society if you wish to broaden your knowledge about it. :) I would also suggests reading up on COPAR. It's an activity most, if not all, nursing students in the Philippines have to go through at one form or another. It's really quite an experience.

If I may suggest in reply... that you do some research on this forum site beginning with the International section, specially the 'New Grad....Fillipino Nurse' from page 1 gives all the information. Also a google search on 'How to be a nurse in Australia' is another research tool. I have been lead to believe there are many, many (many not legit, be careful) recruitment agencies advertising for nurses in your country to become 'Australian'? nurses or in more appropriate language for Filipino nurses to become registered in Australia or to obtain Australian nursing registration.

To become a Registered nurse in this country you first must register, this involves, first being assessed by AHPRA, they will tell you if you need to do bridging or further education...then you can start looking at sponsorship and jobs, hope you have experience in something.

I can see no reason why you would require a recruitment agency until you are registered in Australia and even then it is easy enough to apply as taught in nursing education, cv, resume, etc. Australian registration through AHPRA would be quite straightforward. If you have questions post them there and I am sure and you will be guided to find out more.

Good luck...!!!:)
