Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi all,

Im just wondering if there are any others here that are planning on applying to Joliet Junior College in Illinois for the Spring 2016 start date?

Hi jennandrews07! I received an email that I'm in the evening program as well. See you there (unless you switch to days)!!

I got mine as well. Jenna and Jolleen I will be seeing you in the evening program.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted already!!! That's so exciting :) I got the email that I have to write the essay so I'm going in to do that on September 26th. I hope I do well on it! Congrats to everyone again!

Writing my essay on the 28th. Hope it goes well!

I had to write the essay also! Just be yourselves and it'll be easy as can be! :) :) :)

First of all, congratulations to those of you that are already accepted! I am so excited for you! I am a current 150 student, and just wanted to drop by and offer some encouragement or offer to answer any questions you may have, but I see my pal Hcabee86 beat me to it!

If there's anything we can help you with, please let us know!

I will say, I "met" 2/3 of my best nursing pals and clinical group here on this site when I created a post regarding applying for the Fall 2015 semester. :) It's a great resource, and I wish you all the best of luck!

Hi Laurynq16. Thanks for responding and congrats to you for being in the program! Can you tell us, for the first semester, how many days a week do we need to be in class and also, do you know what the hours for the day program are?

Thanks so much!

Hi! Thanks! :)

I am not positive about the daytime hours, since I am in the evening program. My schedule is as follows:

Monday: 4-5:50- theory 6-7:50- Nurs 140 ( If you aren't a cna already)

Tuesday: Clinical 2-6 while you're still on campus the first couple months, 2-8 once at actual facility

Wed: OFF

Thursday: 5:15-7:05 clinical topics and 7:15-9:05 Nurs 140

Friday: 4-6 Theory

So you should have 4 days on campus. I will ask a day program student what their hours are and get back to you :)

Okay, she already got back to me haha! She said

Monday: 8-1 with a one hour break

Tuesday: 8-12 and it will be 7-1 when clinical starts

Wed: off

thursday: 8-10

Friday: 8-1

She is also taking the Nurs 140 course since she is not currently a cna.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Laurynq, that does help a great deal!

Thank you for the info. I am going in today the 28th to write my essay. This is my 3rd time applying. Great grades, all my pre-reqs...but this TEAS test is horrible. Each time I take it my score goes up. I have to be honest that I have not been really studying like I should be. I'm just praying that I finally make it in.

I'm applying for the Spring 2016 start date. I'm going in today to write my essay.
