JJC spring 2018 nursing program

I applied for the spring 2018 nursing program at Joliet junior college. Now the long wait for admission. Anyone else waiting?

Hello Sarnol! I am in the same boat here. I have a 3.5 gpa with all of my prerequisites including the first two nursing classes, and received a 74 on the TEAS test. Does anyone know how my chances are looking here or have any idea?

So nervous! Hoping to be classmates :)

Just popped in to say hi-- I am also applying for the Spring start. I have applied twice before- this past February we did not get decisions until the end of March. So I am guessing we will get qualification emails next week and decisions at the end of July.

Thankfully I have an 81 on the TEAS this time so I don't have to wonder as much.

What two classes do you have done that are nursing? Health is one I am guessing.

With you me acore, GPA and classes completed I would say worst case you would be an alternate. But it depends how many guaranteed seats are needed.

I was a 75, 3.2 and only missing one pre req- and I didn't even get alternate in march.

I also applied for the spring session. I have all my classes completed, 75 on TEAS a 3.0 on classes they require, and CNA completed. I know quite a few people who got over a 76 on the TEAS this time around, as well as quite a few who got less than a 76. Honestly, from knowing people who got in the past it's hard to understand how they calculate who gets in and who doesn't. I seen people get in with 72 or less without having all their classes completed and people with 72 - 75 and 1 or 2 pre reqs left and not get in. It's the waiting that's the hardest part. Best of luck to each of you.

Hello Jmayer77!

I have health and 101 with all pre reqs completed. I should have studied for the teas but just winged it. Hopefully I am a qualified candidate; nothing yet.

Best of luck! I'm sure you'll be just fine and I hope we all make it in!

any word yet? The anticipation is killing me!!

Nope, no word yet. However, I spoke to advisor and she said 4-6 weeks from 6-15. She said or possibly in August. I also asked her if she knew how many applied this time and she wasn't sure.

This is such a crazy wait

and this is 4-6 weeks just to know if you are a qualifier!

Hey guys!!!

I applied for the spring 2018 program as well. I have a 3.2 gpa and got a 70 on my TEAS with all gen eds/ pre reqs/ CNA completed. Definitely not the best teas score or gpa but still hopeful! Has anyone heard anything yet? The anticipation is killing me lol

Hi Misskatie13!

Welcome to the waiting board. So, the information I gathered so far is that they score each pre-req at 2.3 points each and they have an overall weight of 10% off the acceptance score. I have now figured out that I have a 3.26 calculated gpa (Eng, psych 101, psych 215, bio 250, bio 251, health 109); i am wishing I would have received a higher score in english and bio 250! Is your gpa calculated on these classes as well?
