JJC Spring 2010 applicants

Published

Does anyone know when the emails about being accepted to the program will go out? I think it probably won't be for a few weeks, but I obsessively check my email!

It has to be because I'm not done with bio 251 or heal 109. There is absolutely no other explanation.

Specializes in I start my clinicals next semester!!.

Yea I'm sure next semester you'll get in. Maybe try to work on the reading teas score? It counts for 20% of the acceptance criteria. The teas brand study guide really helped me. Did you use it at all?

Not being done with pre-reqs is probably the reason.

No, I didn't use the study guide at all. I'll apply next semester, but I'm focused on St. Francis and NIU now. If I can get into on of those schools for the fall then it's really pointless to start JJC's nursing program instead of theirs. I wanted to get my RN license and then do an RN-BSN program but after being denied this semester, that route is really just a waste of time. I only wish I had organic chem done so that I could apply at every other school in the state.

MegC - I would say you didn't get in because you have not completed ALL your pre-reqs - I didn't see Bio 251 in your line up. I'm sorry you did not make it in. If you are taking that course this semester and retake the TEAS next year, I would think you would do o.k.

id have to agree. all of your guys' grades are great! i think having all the gen.eds and prereqs. done is a deal breaker to an extent. but who knows. im not sure what the method to their madness is. but do not give up! Ive heard awesome things about St, Francis and their nursing program. Good Luck to all!!:loveya:

For those of you that got in...how many times did you apply? Did you get in on the first try?

And....congrats :)!

This was my first time going through the full application process. I'm a transfer student and when I applied last semester JJC had not evaluated my transcript in time for me to be considered.

It sounds like after your classes are complete this semester you should have no trouble getting in. I've heard St.Francis is great though, so good luck if you decide to go there instead!

this was my first time applying to jjc.

jenifu1...looks like u and me will be in the same classes!!! i dont know about you...but im soo excited and nervous at the same time. ..now that im over the getting in anxiety..now the actual..being in nursing school anxiety has kicked in!!!:imbar

I'm thinking us "days" students should start a study group in January!!!! I picked up my "lab coat" (which is really just a burgundy scrub jacket with a patch sewn on it) - only $22-ish and that included them sewing the patch on.
