JJC Spring 2010 applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Does anyone know when the emails about being accepted to the program will go out? I think it probably won't be for a few weeks, but I obsessively check my email!

A couple of girls talked to the nursing department yesterday, and they are now saying we won't get anything until Nov 1.

Apparently the word is that they are waiting for the Radiology applicants to finish up before they send any emails out.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. We have to play by their rules, but they can bend them anytime they want to.

Well, I guess there isn't anything we can do except wait. But it does suck...

I wish they would let us know if it's Nov 1st. Then my anxiety can take a back seat for a little while.

Since Nov. 1 is a Sunday, I am not holding my breath...

The email came this afternoon. I did not get in and am devastated. The TEAS average was 84.6 and reading was 94.9.

I had a 93 in reading and 86 overall. I don't know what my exact GPA was, but I had all As except for Psych 101, in which I got a B. I have also taken the following: Anatomy 1, Eng 101, Psych 101, Psych 215, Health 109, Spch 101.

Does anyone know if there is a waiting list?

Good luck to everyone else!

I just read my email. I was accepted into the day program (HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!)... Meg, how did you find out about the averages? Good luck to the rest of the readers!!!

As for the waiting list, there is none. You can reapply for the Fall and start fresh (you can take the TEAS again then too to get a better score. The highest TEAS counts). Best of luck!

The TEAS is changing so I have to take it again anyway. The averages were in my denial email.

Can the people who got in please share their application info? I want to know if I should keep trying to get in or stop wasting my time. My TEAS scores were right on the money, so I don't think that was the reason I didn't get in.

I got denied. I had an 86 composite on the TEAS and a 90 in reading. 4.0 gpa in my prereqs. I'm in bio 251, health 109 and soc 290 this semester. I'm guessing I didn't get in because I'm not done with those. Oh well I've been talking to my admissions counselor at St. Francis and I'm pretty sure I will get in there in the fall. JJC's loss as far as I'm concerned.

ZACH - who do you have for Soc 290? I have to take that class and I've heard some instructors are much better than others. How do you like yours?

O'Riordan(sp?) I think that's how you spell his name. Total blow off class. Extremely easy tests that are all online and open book. The questions consist of vocabulary words and definitions. He used to teach juvenile delinquents when he was younger and I think he retired and works at JJC for the hell of it. Makes the class easy for you because I think he wants it to be easy for him.

Jenifu - what classes have you already taken?

I love at the end of the email where it says if you have been denied multiple times to contact career services and to think about a different career.
