Hey! I thought I would start a thread for all the people that are applying for summer admittance into jeff state so we could get to know our possible future classmates. They're accepting 50 on each campus and with the compass completely gone,and the teas v being solely relied on plus course points of course, I think this will make for a INTERESTING admission process to say the least! Any input and comments are welcomed;-)

LOL @ Jessangel!! Yes it was very foreign to me at one time, still is some days!! The quiz they gave us @ orientation was just a practice take home "quiz" it didn't have to be turned in, it was just for us to practice on our own.

Guhl I'm started to think were the red headed step children at Jefferson, because we didn't get anything like that- not a quiz at all!! Lol

just realized i made a mistake in my previous post:an order is written for 0.05g of an oral medication daily. the medication is available in 20mg tablets. how many tablets should the client receive daily?

convert 0.05mg (should have been 0.05g to mg) to grams by moving the decimal point 3 places to the right making it 50mg;

formula ---->ordered/available * 1 tablet b/c it says 20mg tablets

(50mg/20mg) * 1 tablet= 2.5 tablets

@ Jessangel, you don't have to know ALL the meds. They will cover different classes of drugs in pharm 1st semester. Just pay attention!!! Again know class, action, uses, side effects, nursing assessment/interventions for the drugs they go over.

@future, I really should stop calling it a quiz (that's just what it says on the first page of the handout) it is really more a study guide!!! Also meant to say you should know how to convert pounds to kilograms & vice versa. EX: every pound is 2.2 kg; so 130 lb female 130/2.2=59.1 kg

Let me ask u this- would that site jssn 2010 will it help us Jefferson campus students... Even though it says Shelby campus on the site. Like is the curriculm different between the campuses?

All teachers test questions are going to be different but I think the topics covered are the same at each campus. It can't hurt, it can only add to your knowledge!

I think that we are the red headed step children too! The Shelby campus is all pretty and ours is falling apart! LOL I never knew the other campus was so much newer! LOL I mean I asked if we could plug in our computers and the teacher said we dont even have plugs for our stuff and this is not the Shelby campus! LMBO!

Lol you right! And no wifi! ***!!?? But I did hear the teachers at Jefferson seem to care a little more. I have friends at Shelby and it's get in where u fit in and sink or swim.

futurernjap- i will give you a copy of the calculation packet if you want it. I dont have a scanner so I cant email it to you but I could meet you somewhere and give it to you or any other student who wants to study.
