Hi Everyone,
I just applied to The RN program at Jeff State and I wanted to get a thread going for other Fall 2013 hopefuls. If you're like me, the next couple months of waiting is going to be torture and I just thought it would be helpful to have somewhere to go to help pass the time with others in our situation :) I'm pretty optimistic and think I have a good chance, but you just never know! What kind of scores did everyone apply with? I wonder what the cutoff will be? I was told it could be late July before we hear anything...anyone hear something different? Also, who is applying for part-time and who is applying for full-time?
Look forward to meeting you all and GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!
Hey Rocknroll and BMartin, Check your message box. I sent you both the reading list. Also, under the General Nursing Student page I put a cranial nerve diagram. Print it out and learn it. You MUST know these for nursing school:)
Thank you so much! I tried to PM you back but since I just joined I have to have 15 topics I've started before I can PM. I will most definitely be asking you more questions.
Thanks again!
Today I went to the American Family Care on 280 and got a physical exam, and the MMR, tetorifice, chicken pox, and 1st HepB shot for $155. Im not sure if it wouldve been cheaper somewhere else but to me that seems like a steal. Thats with no insurance. I got a TB skin test done elsewhere for $45.
First of all I would like to say good luck to yall in nursing school. I'm finishing up my 5th semester at Jeff State Clanton. Words of wisdom, if you haven't taken all the pre reqs I would suggest you do so. It is possible to take the classes how they are scheduled but it sucks. I took both A&P's and micro along with nursing classes and it was pure hell. I also suggest getting nclex books to use to study for tests. Another website I use is nclex3500 (Main Menu - NCLEX-RN 3500 - Institutional Version) the pretest, which gives instant feedback and rationales. I was also the youngest and only guy left since 2nd semester (just turned 20). Again, good luck and sleep now, because there's a lack of it once you get into nursing school!

Did you just take that form in with you and have the Dr. fill it out or what? I guess they've probably seen those forms before and know what to do....I'm just so paranoid that I'll have some guy fill it out wrong or incompletely that I've been telling myself to just wait until after orientation....
Yeah the receptionist was familiar with it and I told her I basically needed everything on the list and the doc signed off on the work that was done that day. They get them a lot apparently, since kids and adults are required to have certain shots for school anyways.
Whatever they do will still be on file. I dont think it would be a problem to get a signature later if the nursing form is not right the first time. Glad they had the HepB shots in in stock.
So I went and got my shots yesterday (5 total!) and today I feel terrible. I'm feverish and have stomach cramps. Can vaccines really do this to you? I guess when you get so many at once, huh? Oh yeah, AND I have a huge purple bruise on each arm from two of the shots....very attractive :)

Aubgirl, I'd like the PM, as well.
Thank you!
