Is anyone waiting on letters from Jeff State for Fall "09???????:zzzzz

I'm going to go to my doctor's office tomorrow to see what they can do so I'll let you know!! I've had all three of the Hep B shots and MMR so I just need a titer for those. The only thing I have to get is Tetorifice and I need either the titer for Chicken Pox or the vaccine. I'll let you know what I find out for sure!!

So I just got my hep b titer. It was 123. If we've had all the vaccines in th past do we still have to get a titer?? I'm confused.

Yes, I think that is the point of the titer - to prove we are not susceptible to the virus....Did u already have the hep b vac? I made my appt with Shelby Co health dept for the 20th. They can do the tb skin test, mmr and hep b vaccines. I decided to go ahead & get the vaccines since they can be done there. Except the chicken pox, I am going to check with my md for that one....

I just decided to do all the titers. I've has all the vaccines. The price is to be determined. My doctors office is billing me. Haha.

I had the vacs as a child but its ok to take the vaccines again instead of the titers isn't it?

I really don't know. I would think that if you get the vaccine you'll have to do the titers next year to prove you are immune. At least that's what my doctor thought. So I just decided to go ahead and get the titers done because I won't have to deal with it again. Or at least I hope I won't...haha

A girl I work with attends Wallace and last week she was telling me she has to get her tb skin test and titers done every year regardless of whether or not they were submitted the previous year...I'm also going to the Shelby County health dept to get my vacc, but do I have to have them before I get my general physician to sign off on the physical part of the form? I didn't think that part was related to the vaccine part...

Yeah I thought we'd have to get the tb test every year. But for the titers, if you are immune now why would you have to get another one done? That doesn't make sense. I mean if you get a vaccine, I can understand making sure you're immune but my titers are probably going to be about 500 and paying that to find out the same information next year really sounds ridiculous....hopefully we won't have to do them again!!

I have a Pharmacology and Nursing Process Study Guide for sale if anyone is interested. Please contact me ASAP. It is brand new, never used. I am selling it for $20.00

FYI, I bought my books at Snoozy's and my clicker was included in the bundle! Just letting you guys know that are getting the book bundle. Is anyone taking A&PII at the shelby campus in the fall?

Immunity can decrease over time, that's why a yearly titer is necessary while in the program. If the level goes to an indeterminate level, you'll have to get a booster vaccine to boost your immunity.

Has everyone already gotten books and started on calculations?? I'm trying to enjoy the last bit of freedom but don't want to get too far behind! What's been the hardest thing so far on calculations for those that have started??
