Is anyone waiting on letters from Jeff State for Fall "09???????:zzzzz

I saw that a group has been formed for the Jefferson campus for dosage calculations review--is there anyone following who is attending Shelby full time who wants to get together and do something similar? I've talked to a couple of people already who said they'd be interested

Count me in on a study group for shelby!!!!:yeah:

Me too!!! Ya'll we will be on our way to becoming nurses in 1 week! Can you believe it!?!

Hey ya'll. Quick question. I am out of town and have my calculate with confidence book but didn't bring the sheet that had all of the chapters we needed to do. Can someone from Shelby let me know what all the chapters are she wanted us to have completed? That'd be amazing! Thanks!

Stupid question--- the math packett-- it's not homework, is it? I've been studying it and doing problems and researching how to do difficult ones, but I havnt been trying to complete it. Are we supposed to do anything fancy with it? Am I being paranoid?

I think the packet (from orientation) is just practice problems to get us familiar with them. They go along with Chapters 17-20 & 22 in the Calculating book.

FYI - I just got my Hep B vac, TB test & MMR vac done at Shelby County Health Dept. It cost me $39.73. I had my tetorifice done there earlier for about $15.00. Now, I just have to get a titer for chicken pox. They suggested calling American Family Care for a price but I am going to check with me regular doc first.

I am so excited to start Monday - look forward to meeting everyone & becoming nurses together :yeah:

I'm both excited and terrified. I didn't take classes this summer, and things had been very crazy for me (hubby unemployed for 4 months because economy sucks-- he got a job Tuesday though- we celebrate tonight!) so, I'm afraid my study skills have gotten rusty. I hope not! I just keep trying to study now and get distracted with doing something more immediate. It helps when we actually have classes and assignments with actual due dates.

Yeah, I had my titers done, and they all came back very good. I had my hep b shot last thursday, tetorifice about 2 weeks ago. Yay! I have a cute little bruise from the hep b shot. :)

I feel the same way....We are in the same boat it seems. I didn't take classes - had a baby and my husband lost his job a few weeks ago (congrats on finding a new one!) we thought it would be much easier to find something - not the case! I have been reading alot since I got my books last week .

By the way, has anyone checked Blackboard? I printed the syllabus for 103 & 104. It has the scheduled meeting days as Tues & Wed. Did I write it down wrong in my day planner? I have written Nur 102 on Tues. Just checking.....

I'm not sure...but I was reading the syllabus and schedule for the classes and they had something about bringing injection supplies?? I hope they tell us this on the first day because I'm totally confused. Anyways, I cannot believe we start in 2 days. This is crazy!! I'm still working on the practice problems and stuff but after looking at the calendar it looks like she is going to go over them in class. So who knows what they expect from us! Hopefully we will find out Monday!

Did y'all buy your steth through Meridy's? That looks like the best place to buy but it says that "in-uniform" date is in October, but we need the steth the first week in September. I'm not sure if I should just order it through them and assume it will arrive in time or just get it off ebay or something and pay a little more. Any comments?

I bought my Littman steth from 3m.com I think. Or whatever the main website is for littman. It had free shipping and free engraving. The price for the same one on meridys website was about ten dollars more. Just FYI. And when I ordered it shipped the next day even with the engraving.

Yeah, meridys is overpriced. My mother gave me one, and I got another one from eBay for $20. The Sprague are the better type for accoustics. Also-- I've been told there is a problem with equipment "dissapearing".
