January CEP applicants?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!

I have no idea how long it has taken me. I am older (38), with 5 kids. I quit school when I was attending part time at the age of 21 to get married and start a family. I took classes on again and off again for the past 20 years (no joke). All of them still qualify. I started getting serious last summer, and since then I have taken 8 classes. I actually have statistics that I am taking beginning next week, but it is really the LAST class and NAU allows you to apply with up to 7 credits in progress. SO hoping I still get in!

Hi arc1, ah I see. I'm excited for you and I really hope you get it in! And good luck in statistics next week; I've heard that it's actually really interesting. :D I guess that partially depends on the professor though.

Hi alissaarlene, that's around the time-frame I think it would take me personally (4 semesters full time.) It seems like no matter what route is taken, these requirements take around 2 years. But based on what you said I think I should go the AGEC route.

And can I just say that it's really nice to know that you guys kind of went through the same things as me? :) So far, I haven't met anyone in my classes applying to the NAU CEP. Though, I have met several people applying to the ASU CEP and a few others applying for radiography.

Thank you! How many classes did you say you have left before you can apply? I took classes as fast as I could this past year - taking 8 week classes through Rio if I could just to get it all done to be able to apply this month. Whew.

Oh I didn't frame that last part well. I meant to say that it's nice to know people who went through the motions of classes and figuring things out in order to apply for the NAU CEP. (Kinda like me, but you guys did much more. I'm still early on in my classes and have a lot left to take.)

It's great that you were able to get your classes done so you could apply! You probably have a really good chance since you said your stats are great (hesi and gpa.)

Also, I forgot that Rio is really flexible. I might take some classes this summer.

I felt like a lot of this program is A- "hurry up and wait " and B- figuring it out as you go. Even in the blocks now there is SOOO much new information. Just take it one step at a time and save your books from a&p, patho, and nutrition!

That must be so exciting and scary at the same time! :) I hope that by the time I'm done with all these classes I'll be ready. And thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to save those books!

Ooh, thanks for the -saving the books- tip! I actually super love my A&P/patho/nutrition books and still have all of them (they are so pricey it is hard to get rid of them!) I took nutrition 7 years though, I imagine much of the information is the same.

I applied for the summer start also! Im excited and scared ! Good luck to everyone! :)

Awesome! Good luck to you, too! Which program are you hoping for (traditional, evening or weekend)?

I just applied this past weekend, I was really anxious about the process ! The nerve wracking part is waiting to hear back and hoping that I get the choice I selected. Super excited to finally start the process, I feel like it has already taken so long....

Best of luck to everyone and hope you all get in!

I applied end of December and choose traditional for my first option with NAU at GateWay CC.

Hi I also applied to the program for summer of 2016. The advisor told me that we should know by the end of February. I can't wait to find out. I'm nervous but so excited. I have a 3.6 GPA hesi score of 92 overall. I also have Associates of Arts degree. I hope that is good enough to get me into the program. I am definitely intimidated when I see the dummies at the Glendale Community College lab. But I am also stoked to finally get in and become a nurse. My name is Amy by the way. Good luck to another future nurse!
