Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

I also haven't received a reading list for clinical, only for lecture.
Has anyone found scholarship information on the broward site for nursing

I'm also curious about this...has anyone received any scholarships?

Which campus are you going to and who told you that those chapters have to be read by the first day of clinical?

South, and email from instructor...

If this would help you any, I emailed the professor about chapter readings for clinical, and she suggested that we read Unit 1.

For central campus. Clinical for process 1 is about vitals signs, bed making, oral care, bed pan, restraints, sterile technique, emptying Foley catheter and physical assessment. After a month, you need to show that you can do those skills. It's usually about 4 skills and physical assessment. Your need to do the return demo within 1 hour.
