Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.
BC nursing logo is not available to outside vendors. I would not chance that at all. I ask the dean could I get my pants from an outside vendor. She said no, because the pants styles begin to change ex. cargo pants, no cargo pants. I actually bought a pair from the bookstore; and went to an outside vendor none of the blue pants matched the ones I bought from the bookstore.
If buying uniforms is an issue for anyone. I would suggest that you should buy what you can, and as time goes on buy more. I would atleast try to buy 2 though.
Hello everyone. Good luck to all and welcome to broward. I started fall at broward and wanted to transfer to miami dade college. I passed process 1 and process 2 lab, but not sure about the theory though. Read the perry potter book before you start. Our first process 1 exam is 7 chapters and it's cumulative of 30 chapters on the first half of the semester. Practice ratio and proportion. It's not hard just need to take your time in answering them. We started 50, now we're down to 33 in our theory, but at least 10 failed math so they need to retract for lab. Out of 23 in tract we still don't know how many of us will pass theory... It's tough program don't fall behind on your reading.
That's pretty scary...thanks for the heads up on the reading!

That's what I did. I bought 2 uniforms and 1 polo shirt. I will get more as time goes by.

I bought my pants from Uniform Advantage and no one has complained. I agree with the top though. Also, from what I've heard and seen South students have to wear uniform for theory and clinicals. No polos. :/

@Butterfly Like I said the Dean told me this therefore, I wouldn't say if it wasn't true. Also I did see students wearing there polos on South Campus "last week" furthermore my friend wears one she is a South Campus student. So I don't know where you got that info from.
As for me I read the uniform policy in my packet and by the way it is updated version and I spoke with the dean with that being said. Speak with your Dean at "Your" campus and follow the uniform policy. That will take care of anyone concerns.

You don't have to be rude. I'm not the one with uniform questions. I'm already 6 months into my program and just wanted to help.

I bought 4 uniforms. One for each day.
