January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

weren't we supposed to get another email telling us how to register? Tomorrow when we register do we use the reference number or the course name?

The reference numbers are in the email next to the course name it's like 6 or 7 digits.

Either Boroughs, Bourie.

Which one did you have? Did you like her?

I had Smith because I am in the LPN to RN transition program.

Have you heard anything about the other ones?

I heard Bourie is good. Burroughs doesn't really teach. My mom had her when she was in nursing school and said the same: "she doesn't teach."

Well I dont know what to do. I live in Coral Springs and theres no way I can drive 2 hours round trip everyday. I have a husband and 2 kids. This is ridiculous that we cant choose what campus we want to attend. They are setting me up to fail not to succeed.

I dont think it is a set up for failure...You have to make the best of it...but it is a drive. I cant believe you cant choose your campus, though. I thought you could? I drive from South West broward...at the dade broward line...to North campus. Unfortunately, I drive at 7:40 so it takes the full hour but any early or later isnt too bad. I drive home at 12 and it is much faster. Usually half an hour. I hope that doesn't stop you. Especially driving around 5:30 or 6am for clinicals...you wont be driving an hour. I cant imagine any campus will be easy with kids. I also have 3 and Im sure it will be hard! Good luck either way...I hope you can get into north for one less thing to think about. Maybe you can talk to the school and see if it is possible to swap with someone. I guess it could be possible that someone else needs to be south?

Did anyone get the booklist?
